Everyone at the dining table looked at Roxanne with admiration, even expressing a desire to take her on as a disciple. However, remembering her rejection of Gerald's offer, they felt too embarrassed to speak.

Gerald quickly changed the subject, but the conversation remained within the medical field. Roxanne's earlier performance ensured that whenever Gerald posed a question, all eyes turned to her. She felt as if she were at a conference, the center of everyone's attention.

Fortunately, this didn't last long. Gerald noticed the overly solemn atmosphere and steered the conversation toward lighter topics. As the junior members, Roxanne and Larry became the targets of good-natured teasing.

Roxanne couldn't refuse the drinks offered by her seniors, accepting each one. After several drinks, anticipating more, she excused herself to the washroomโ€”a pretext to get some fresh air outside the private room.

The Ocean Restaurant, decorated primarily in dark blue with touches of white, had a mysterious yet calming ambiance. After wandering near the private room's entrance, Roxanne felt more sober. Knowing she shouldn't keep her seniors waiting, she returned inside.

"Dr. Jarvis?"

Turning, she encountered a middle-aged man. His white shirt, strained by his beer belly, seemed about to burst. His flushed cheeks indicated he was drunk. He took a few steps toward her, as if to verify her identity.

Roxanne frowned and stepped back, creating distance before greeting him. "Dr. Chambers, it's been a while."

Dr. Chambers, a doctor from a hospital partnered with Roxanne's research institute, was someone she'd met only a few times. Beyond his last name, she knew nothing about him.

Assured of her identity, he became bolder, leering at her. "I thought you were beautiful at the institute. Dr. Jarvis, out of your lab coat, you're even more beautiful, and you have a great figure."

He approached slowly. "Your face is glowing. Let me touch itโ€ฆ"

Disgusted by his outstretched, greasy hand, Roxanne slapped it away. "Dr. Chambers, know your boundaries!"

Startled, he glared. "How dare you hit me?"

Roxanne tried to leave, but he blocked her path. "You're trying to walk away after hitting me? Not a chance!"

His gaze dropped to her waist, his anger subsiding. "Spend the night with me, and I'll forget this. What do you say?"

"If you come any closer, I'll call security!" she warned, cornered.

Unfazed, he tried to put his arm around her waist, lust evident on his face. "Sure. Call them. They can watch us have fun!"

Feeling physically outmatched, Roxanne frantically searched for an escape plan as the smell of alcohol intensified. Just as despair set in, she heard a grunt, and he was thrown away from her.
