Chapter 361: Not Worth a Mention

After several phone calls, the pair learned only that their partners harbored strong feelings and that someone was secretly working against them. However, no medical supplies had been sent to the research institute.

Panicked, Roxanne remembered Larry mentioning at their last medical conference his desire to establish himself in Chanaea, likely staying in Horington. Given his medical reputation and the Morrison family's standing in Horington, he undoubtedly had connections.

This sparked hope. "I'm going to call a friend," she told Colby, grabbing her phone to call Larry.

He answered immediately. "What can I do for you, Roxanne?" his deep voice asked.

Roxanne froze, realizing she had always asked Larry for help. Embarrassment washed over her.

Sensing her hesitation, Larry frowned. "Roxanne? Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Do you know any reliable medicinal herb suppliers in Horington, Larry?" she asked, abashed. "Could you introduce me?"

Larry agreed instantly, without asking why. "No problem," he replied. "I'll make some calls and get back to you."

Roxanne was surprised by his quick agreement. "Thank you, Larry," she said after a moment. "I'll await your news."

His next words revealed displeasure. "Why are you so courteous? You saved my parents' lives. This small favor is nothing compared to our debt to you. Even if I accepted your thanks, my parents wouldn't."

Roxanne smiled and retracted her thanks. "All right. I'll await your news."

Larry confirmed he would before hanging up.

Colby, watching in confusion, sensed she'd spoken to someone important. Roxanne seemed much calmer after the call.

"Is he trustworthy, Dr. Jarvis?" Colby asked uncertainly.

Roxanne nodded. "That was Larry Morrison, a senior colleague I met abroad. You must have heard of him."

"Him?" Colby was shocked.

Larry was internationally renowned, especially among younger medical professionals. He was known as a skilled doctor and wealthy heir. Roxanne knew him, and seemed to be on good terms with him!

Colby felt a pang of embarrassment. Roxanne was a fantastic woman with many deserving suitors. Compared to them, he felt insignificant.

The following promotional material has been removed.

Taking this to heart, Colby made a promise to himself: He would succeed in the medical field and become worthy of Roxanne.

Worrying about Larry's reply, Roxanne remained unaware of his feelings. She hadn't mentioned the institute's sabotage, unsure who was responsible.

The following internal monologue has been formatted for better readability:

She mused, I'm not sure if Larry can stand against them. It's better not to risk involving him.

This thought filled Roxanne with a touch of fear.
