Listen to this chapter:

With no one disturbing her, Roxanne's treatment went smoothly. After a while, a dozen silver needles were inserted into Alfred's chest. Throughout the process, Roxanne focused calmly and steadily on treating him. In fact, she was so focused that she didn't realize Lucian was watching her the entire time. He had already reviewed her credentials downstairs; they were flawless. This led him to imagine the excitement of her past six years, but this was the first time he'd seen this side of herโ€”her absolute focus and unwavering movements. It was something entirely new to Lucian. An indescribable feeling welled up in his heart.

Meanwhile, Jonathan observed her inserting the needles and her expression. After a dozen needles were inserted, he joyfully realized she might save Alfred. Like everyone else, he'd initially thought her actions ridiculous, but her focused expression inspired trust. He insisted she stay. The more skillfully and calmly she worked, the more certain he became of her ability. He also noticed she was using extremely dangerous acupuncture points. The slightest mistake could be fatal. He believed Roxanne wouldn't risk Alfred's life unless she was confident. Her mastery of acupuncture and acupuncture points was evident. Jonathan felt joyful and deeply respectful. "Even though she looks younger than me," he thought, "she's far more capable. One shouldn't judge a book by its cover."

The room remained silent for nearly twenty minutes before Roxanne inserted the final needle. Relaxing, she wiped her sweaty forehead. "All right, that's enough. He'll be much better after I remove the needles in an hour." She glanced at the two men. Jonathan sighed with relief, approached Alfred, and asked, "When will he wake up?"

"He should wake up when I remove the needles," Roxanne replied. She stood and reached for tissues to wipe her forehead, but before she could, someone tugged her shirt. She looked down to see Estella's sparkling eyes. Despite knowing the child was Lucian's daughter from another woman, Roxanne couldn't help but be moved by her angelic face. Estella, seeing Roxanne's expression, offered a neatly folded handkerchief. Roxanne hesitated briefly before smiling and accepting it. Estella then smiled brightly and went to pour her a glass of water.

Lucian silently watched Estella's excited movements. His eyes darkened. This is the first time she's taken the initiative to get close to someone. Although I suppose it's only natural, considering their relationship.

Jonathan, unaware of their relationship, was surprised. "Looks like Essie likes you, Dr. Jarvis! It's the first time I've seen her be so willing to approach someone!"
