Listen to this chapter:

At the end of the day, the man was from Queen Group. Since Jonathan had left the matter in the man's hands, he was also one of Jonathan's men. Therefore, Roxanne wasn't going to put him in a difficult position. Her earlier comments were merely a reminder that the research institute was difficult to work with, and he should make more effort in the future.

Recovering his composure, Rex let out a sigh of relief. He quickly took Roxanne's hand, nodding vigorously. "Of course, of course!"

Roxanne smiled politely. "I look forward to working with you."

Rex wiped the sweat from his forehead and fervently agreed.

Meanwhile, Colby finished counting the herbs. He instructed the employees to move the boxes inside before joining the others.

Rex clearly had experience with similar tasks, as he quickly handed Colby the document upon seeing him approach.

Colby glanced at Roxanne. Technically, the person in charge should sign it.

Roxanne nodded to Colby.

After a moment's hesitation, Colby signed the document.

However, long after he signed, Rex didn't retrieve it. He seemed lost in thought.

The corner of Colby's lips twitched before he prompted, "Mr. Tanner?"

Startled, Rex snapped back to attention and awkwardly took the document. He profusely apologized before Roxanne used his work as an excuse for him to leave. After watching the Queen Group representatives depart, the two returned to the research institute.

"Will this batch of herbs be enough?" Roxanne asked seriously.

Colby, walking behind her, replied, "Yes. Queen Group may be compensating for Rex's rejection yesterday; they sent more than we ordered. We have enough for now, perhaps even a surplus."

Roxanne furrowed her brows. "Why didn't you mention that earlier?"

Colby raised an eyebrow. "I wanted to, but the list matched my calculations, so I didn't raise the issue."

He avoided mentioning it to Rex, who would have likely used it to gloss over his previous rejection.

Colby wasn't going to give him that chance.

Roxanne smiled, understanding his reasoning.

She knew it was Jonathan's doing. While she could avoid mentioning it to Rex, she still needed to thank Jonathan.

Returning to her office, Roxanne called Jonathan.

He answered immediately, even speaking before she could. "Dr. Jarvis, did you receive the herbs from Queen Group?"

Roxanne chuckled. "Yes. Your people arrived before me. And they sent more than I ordered. Mr. Queen, this was intentional, wasn't it?"

Jonathan didn't deny it. "Yesterday must have been troublesome for your institute. After you left, my grandfather reprimanded me. We are responsible, but I didn't know how to compensate you. So, Dr. Jarvis, I hope you'll accept these herbs."

Sending extra herbs was partly Jonathan's attempt to salvage Queen Group's reputation with Roxanne and the others.

Roxanne accepted, knowing the extra herbs were insignificant to Queen Group. "Thank you. They've solved my current crisis. I'll thank you personally another day."

"Sounds good," Jonathan chuckled. "My grandfather's been asking when he can meet you."

After brief pleasantries, they ended the call.
