"Do you still think you've done nothing wrong?"

Jonathan saw through her with a single glance. He coldly set down his documents and gravely regarded the young woman before him.

Frieda frowned. "I didn't do anything wrong. Mrs. Farwell, not I, targeted Roxanne. I was simply following her instructions."

"Mrs. Farwell herself told you not to supply any herbs to Dr. Jarvis's research institute?" Jonathan's stern question made Frieda jump.

She tensed, then relaxed. Steeling herself, she replied, "Even if Mrs. Farwell hadn't told me, I know what she wants. Furthermore, we have a good relationship with the Farwell Group. Shouldn't we help Mrs. Farwell?"

Before Jonathan could respond, Frieda continued, "Jonathan, remember Roxanne left without a word, only leaving divorce papers. Mrs. Farwell hasn't settled the score with her yet. Aren't we, knowing what happened, on the same side as the Farwells? Given your closeness to Lucian, shouldn't you be avenging him?"

Jonathan countered coldly, "Did Lucian tell you this? Does Lucian need either you or me to avenge him?"

As far as Jonathan knew, Lucian not only didn't need them to avenge him, but he was defending Roxanne more than most. How could Lucian possibly allow them to target Roxanne? Jonathan suspected Lucian didn't know Sonya was targeting Roxanne; otherwise, he wouldn't have remained inactive. Meanwhile, Frieda continued her excuses. "Regardless, what Roxanne did was a fact. Mrs. Farwell will never forgive her or Aubree."

"Stop!" Jonathan sharply interrupted, regaining his composure. "You know whether you're doing this for Mrs. Farwell or yourself! Frieda Queen, ask yourself: What has Dr. Jarvis done to wrong our family? If not for her, Grandpa wouldn't have recovered so well. She's the Queen family's savior! Verbally targeting her is one thing, but you still refuse to admit wrongdoing after doing something so ludicrous!"

Frieda, seeing her brother's fury for the first time, was silenced.

Jonathan knitted his brows. "I don't know where your prejudice against Dr. Jarvis comes from, but from now on, I don't want to hear about you doing foolish things like this, let alone using the Farwell Group as an excuse!"

Frieda started to speak in her own defense, but before she could, Jonathan stood and returned to his desk.

"You can go if you have nothing else to say. I have work to do. And it's best you stay home for now. I'm afraid you lack self-discipline." Jonathan knew he couldn't change her mind and didn't want to waste his breath.

He immersed himself in his work, ignoring Frieda.

However, Frieda refused to yield. Seeing him ignore her, she tried to attract his attention.

He remained unmoved.

Scoffing, Frieda grabbed her bag, stood, and stormed out, her heels clicking angrily. She slammed the door. Jonathan merely frowned briefly before returning to his work.
