Once Archie and Benny were comforted, Roxanne sighed in relief.
After they finished eating, she sent them to their room before entering the study. Alfred had mentioned the Damaris family's medical consultation was in two days. She needed to learn more beforehand.
Previously, she had only heard about the Damaris family's consultations; she'd never investigated them, nor imagined participating. Since this unexpected opportunity had arisen, she was determined to excel.
Lacking leads, Roxanne resorted to the unreliable method of online searching, hoping for even a glimpse of information. Unfortunately, the Damaris family proved too enigmatic for readily available information. Despite previous consultations, online resources were woefully inadequate.
After a fruitless search, Roxanne called Harvey. He answered promptly. Without preamble, she asked, "Professor Lambert, do you know anything about the Damaris family?"
Harvey was taken aback. "The Damaris family withdrew from society years ago. Why the sudden inquiry?"
Roxanne explained succinctly, "I heard they're holding a medical consultation, and I'm hoping to learn more. Unfortunately, online information is scarce, so I'm asking you for any helpful details."
Harvey hummed, then fell silent for a few seconds. Finally, he replied, "I've been overseas. I don't know much about them. However, I can recommend an online forum focusing on prestigious families in traditional medicine. Hopefully, it helps."
"Thank you, Professor Lambert," Roxanne replied with a smile.
Harvey smiled briefly, then changed the subject. "You said you'd be returning soon. How's Chanaea? Need my help?" He knew about the research institute, but distance limited his assistance. He'd prepared a project for her immediate resumption upon her return.
Roxanne replied apologetically, "The institute issue is settled, but... I'll be staying longer. I want to wait until the Damaris consultation is over." Securing the Damaris family's attention would greatly benefit her institute. She wouldn't readily relinquish such an opportunity. Harvey chuckled on the other end. "But I'm here, waiting for you to join my main force."
Guilt washed over Roxanne. "My apologies, Professor Lambert."
Before she could elaborate, Harvey laughed. "Just kidding! I let you return to Chanaea hoping you'd hone your traditional medicine skills. As your professor, I naturally wish you well. Perform admirably; don't embarrass me."
Roxanne smiled obediently. "Don't worry. I'll do my absolute best."
"Don't worry about me. Call when you plan to return," Harvey said sincerely.
Roxanne was touched. "Thank you, Professor."
Harvey then inquired about Archie and Benny. Reassured of their well-being, he hung up with relief.
