Listen to this chapter:

After some idle chatter, Madilyn took her leave; it was already late. Meanwhile, the boys followed Roxanne around. After tidying the room, she finally had time for them.

“Did you enjoy yourselves at kindergarten today? Did you get into any fights with your friends?”

After recounting the day's events, the boys nodded forcefully. “We had a good time! When school was over, they even gave us lots of snacks!”

Roxanne smiled. “It seems you're both very popular.”

Benny nodded earnestly, glancing at Archie. “In fact, a girl said she wants to marry Archie when she grows up!”

“Really?” Roxanne looked amused.

Slightly stunned, Archie glanced at his brother, blushing furiously. “Yes, but I didn't agree.”

Benny pinched Archie's ear, making a face.

Seeing the boys fooling around, Roxanne beamed. Even though it was late, they clung to her, recounting their kindergarten day. Benny usually did most of the talking, while Archie summarized. Roxanne listened intently, laughing at their cuteness.

When she finally checked the time, it was almost ten o'clock.

“Time for bed. You have school tomorrow,” she said seriously, coaxing the children.

They obediently went upstairs to sleep.

The next morning, Roxanne dropped them off at kindergarten before heading to the research institute. After the morning meeting, she left the conference room with Colby.

“How did it go yesterday? Did you manage to treat Old Mr. Queen?” Colby asked.

Roxanne nodded. “His condition is serious and complex, requiring extensive treatment, but a cure is possible, though it will take time. I'll be going there often over the next few days, so you'll have to manage things here.”

Filled with admiration, Colby teased, “I'm amazed you treated a sickness that baffled all the doctors the Queen family consulted. Dr. Jarvis, your work shames us!”

He was joking, but it was true; he'd been stumped by Alfred's condition.

Roxanne smiled and downplayed it. “It just happens to be my specialty.”

Colby's heart throbbed at her nonchalant demeanor.

“By the way, even though Old Mr. Queen hasn't fully recovered, the Queen family agreed to supply us with the medicine, and we'll likely sign the contract today. The first batch is free. This solves our shortage and secures our supply.”

Roxanne's face lit up.

Colby raised an eyebrow. “Really? They're willing to sign even though Old Mr. Queen just regained consciousness?”

Roxanne grinned and nodded.

Colby praised, “Clearly, they're impressed by your skills. You're amazing.”

Roxanne chuckled. “I'm just doing my job. Hopefully, there will be no setbacks with Old Mr. Queen.”

“With you in charge, I'm sure everything will be fine,” Colby replied confidently.
