The next morning, Roxanne was still fast asleep when a knock sounded on her door.

"Mommy!" Benny's childish voice called from outside her bedroom. "Mommy, wake up!"

The noise jolted Roxanne awake, and she quickly sat up. Thinking something had happened, she hurried to open the door without even combing her hair. Archie and Benny greeted her with innocent looks, their eyes wide with anticipation. "Mommy, will you send us to kindergarten today?" they whined, looking up at her with puppy-dog eyes.

Roxanne was fully awake by then. The boys' question reminded her of their disappointed faces the previous night.

After a moment's hesitation, she agreed. "You boys have breakfast first. I'll be down in a few. After breakfast, I'll take you to kindergarten."

Archie and Benny's eyes lit up. Nodding obediently, they immediately trotted downstairs.

After freshening up and changing out of her pajamas, Roxanne went downstairs, where the boys patiently awaited her at the table. During breakfast, they were unusually attentive, constantly adding food to Roxanne's plate.

Roxanne understood their joy, feeling a touch of exasperation, but she couldn't help but indulge them. Remembering Lucian's words from the day before, she couldn't disagree. Archie and Benny were perfectly normal children, yet she found herself readily fulfilling their requests, even more so than with Estella's emotional instability. While she'd told Lucian this, it might not be entirely effective.

She had finally resolved the issue with the research institute and secured an amazing opportunity. She didn't want Sonva interfering again.

Roxanne's gaze softened as she looked at her sons. In a casual tone, she said, "I'll take you to kindergarten today, but I'll be busy again soon. Ms. Lane or Aunt Madilyn will need to pick you up, okay?"

Archie and Benny looked at her suspiciously. "Isn't everything all right with the research institute now? What else are you busy with, Mommy?"

Roxanne took a deep breath. "There's a fantastic medical consultation being organized by a group of doctors in a few days. I'll be participating, so I need to prepare. This opportunity means a lot to me. You two need to be good, okay?"

Archie and Benny nodded reluctantly, though sympathetic to Estella, ultimately prioritizing Roxanne's work.

Seeing their thoughtfulness, Roxanne secretly sighed in relief.

After breakfast, Roxanne took the boys to kindergarten. It was early, and few people were at the gate. She scanned her surroundings, relieved to see no sign of Lucian or Estella. The tension eased from her shoulders. After entrusting Archie and Benny to Pippa, Roxanne turned to leave, hoping to avoid Lucian and Estella.

However, Archie and Benny urged her to stay a little longer, as Estella hadn't arrived yet. They knew Roxanne would soon be busy again, making it harder for Estella to see her. They didn't want Estella to be upset.

Roxanne understood their plan perfectly. After offering words of comfort and encouragement, she quickly handed them over to Pippa and left without hesitation.

Watching Roxanne's receding figure, Archie and Benny hung their heads dejectedly, unsure how to face a disappointed Estella.
