After a bit of coordination, each of the four doctors received patients. Roxanne breathed a sigh of relief and returned to her post.

Silence settled over the cubicle. Occasionally, the children's soft laughter and playful sounds drifted out; they seemed mindful of the doctors' work. Yet, as Roxanne worked, her heart grew heavier.

Their initial assessment involved checking the children's pulses and assessing their general health. Those with more complex conditions would require further treatment.

Roxanne had been heartbroken by the sight of the abandoned children, but actively treating them intensified her distress. Some children had mild ailments treatable with medication or acupuncture. However, the on-site doctors could not manage more serious cases, referring those children to the hospital, where the Damaris family would cover medical expenses.

Roxanne treated several children with mild issues and was about to relax when she examined a child with a serious condition. He was about four or five years oldโ€”around Archie and Benny's age. His usually round, chubby face was tense with apprehension.

Looking into his large, round eyes, Roxanne's heart ached so deeply she was speechless.

"Am I very sick?" the child asked fearfully.

A lump formed in Roxanne's throat. She hesitated, afraid her voice would break.

The child, however, offered unexpected comfort. "It's okay. I'm just an orphan nobody loves, so no one will be sad even if I'm really sick. Don't feel bad for me. Your eyes are getting red." The quiet room ensured everyone heard his words.

Feeling helpless, Roxanne dug her fingers into her palms before turning to her colleagues for assistance. Having lost a child herself, the situation was unbearable.

Lack approached, gently stroking the boy's head. "Don't worry. We'll take you to the hospital, and you'll be fine."

The boy looked directly at Roxanne, seeking reassurance.

Roxanne took a deep breath, suppressing her tears. She smiled and promised, "You will be fine, and you are not a child nobody loves. Once you're better, someone will adopt you. You'll have a mom and a dad, and you'll grow up happy and healthy. That's why you must be brave and let us treat you, okay?"

The mention of a mom and dad lit up his eyes. Eagerly, he asked, "Is it true? Will I really have a mom and a dad? Even though I'm so sick?" Roxanne's heart clenched. His words revealed his awareness of the severity of his condition, yet his greatest concern was finding love.

For a moment, Roxanne was tempted to take the child with her. But recognizing her inability to provide a proper family, she dismissed the thought.

"You will be fine. And you're so cute, everyone will be fighting to adopt you," Roxanne cooed, caressing his cheek.

The child smiled brightly, his face flushing with happiness.

Jack, despite his experience with similar situations, felt his heart ache. He composed himself, then shouted to the workers outside, "Get someone to take this child to the hospital!"

A man soon arrived, smiling at the child and offering his arms. The boy obediently climbed into his arms. Before leaving, he turned and waved at Roxanne. "Bye." He then said goodbye to the other children.
