Chapter 625

Lucian had planned to pick up Estella after work, but Jonathan called, inviting him to dinner. Lucian almost refused, but Jonathan had been discussing Roxanne with him for days, and he anticipated another conversation that evening. He agreed. After hanging up, Lucian instructed Cayden to fetch Estella while he met Jonathan.

Jonathan was already waiting. He waved as Lucian entered. As soon as Lucian sat down, Jonathan asked, โ€œHow did it go? You didnโ€™t fight with Dr. Jarvis at noon, did you?โ€

Lucianโ€™s expression fell as he remembered Roxanneโ€™s rejection. Jonathan noticed and inquired, โ€œDidnโ€™t it go well?โ€

Lucian frowned. โ€œThe process wasnโ€™t pleasant, but Iโ€™m unsure about the ending.โ€ Heโ€™d seen a glimmer of hope in Roxanneโ€™s reaction.

Jonathan was surprised. โ€œWhy do you say so?โ€ he asked. Lucian recounted the events of noon.

Jonathan was even more astonished to learn of Lucianโ€™s confession, despite his flowers being rejected, and Roxanneโ€™s questioning of his sincerity rather than outright dismissal. Though he hadn't witnessed the interaction, he believed Lucian had a chance and was improving his approach to women.

Jonathan sighed. โ€œThatโ€™s good. I was worried you might falter, so I even devised a backup plan. I thought it might be useful if things went south with Dr. Jarvis.โ€ Heโ€™d prepared a contingency plan after their morning call. However, it seemed unnecessary now.

โ€œDr. Jarvisโ€™s attitude shows thereโ€™s still hope! Don't give her time to react!โ€ Jonathan encouraged.

Lucian frowned. โ€œIโ€™m still considering my next move.โ€

Jonathan mysteriously produced something from his pocket, eliciting a confused look from Lucian.

โ€œCoincidentally, I acquired two concert tickets this morning,โ€ Jonathan said, handing them over. โ€œGo together. Improve your relationship.โ€

Lucian, seeing the VIP tickets, smiled. โ€œThank you!โ€

Jonathan continued, โ€œIโ€™ve given you an idea. Now, itโ€™s up to you to plan how to ask Dr. Jarvis out.โ€

Lucian fell silent, then grunted in response. He hadn't yet considered that.
