Listen to this chapter:

Everyone at Pearson Group had been working tirelessly due to the virus. Aubree loitered in the technical department, occasionally hurling insults.

"Mr. Pearson," Charles's voice startled her.

Aubree quickly composed herself, lowering her eyes. "Dad, why are you here?" she asked the newly arrived Samuel Pearson.

His square face was serious. "What's going on? Haven't you dealt with the virus yet?"

The technical department manager, whom Aubree had scolded all morning, was drenched in sweat. He nodded, bending over apologetically. "Mr. Pearson, we've tried our best, but this virus is incredibly powerful. Every time we're close to a breakthrough, another difficult problem arises. It's never-ending."

"So you're saying you can't solve it?" Samuel questioned, frowning.

The manager nodded guiltily.

"Idiots!" Samuel roared. Turning to his daughter, he said, "Then we contact Lucian's company immediately and ask if they have solutions."

Farwell Group boasted many talented employees, the world's best network system, and the world's second-best computer genius. If even they couldn't solve Pearson Group's problem, the company was doomed.

"No way!" Aubree exclaimed, scowling at the screen. "If we get Farwell Group involved, Lucian will see this. I'll be humiliated."

Samuel lectured coldly, "If you're worried about humiliation, why did you antagonize people without knowing their background? Now they're retaliating. Do you understand how much the company will lose if this isn't resolved? Which is more important: your reputation or the company?"

Aubree bit her lip, finally conceding.

Samuel glared at her, then dialed Lucian, requesting assistance.

Lucian simply instructed Cayden to send a random technical department employee to Pearson Group.

This employee proved far more skilled than Pearson Group's staff. While they'd been powerless all morning, Lucian's employee glanced at the problem, began typing, and quickly neared a solution, evident to anyone in the industry.

Meanwhile, Roxanne returned to her study, confirming Archie and Benny were alright. Archie examined stock prices on his laptop. After a while, a series of codes appeared.

"Benny, look!" Archie exclaimed.

Benny's eyes lit up. He recognized the codesโ€”a program he'd designed to alert him when the virus's core sequence was cracked.

I thought this virus wouldn't be cracked today. Looks like the other party is a professional, Benny thought, growing excited. He took the laptop, engaging the other programmer.

Half an hour later, Benny stopped typing.

"What is it?" Archie asked, puzzled.

Benny grinned. "It's cracked."

Archie looked at him strangely. "Why are you so happy?"

Benny shrugged. "That person was incredible. The challenge was exhilarating. But he's definitely not from Pearson Groupโ€”far superior to those idiots."
