Chapter 786: He Considered Your Feelings

Since Benny had asked Lucian to join them, Roxanne had no reason to refuse. She forced a smile. "You're just in time, Mr. Farwell. Please join us."

She then went into the kitchen for more cutlery. Standing alone, Roxanne felt distracted. Meanwhile, Benny seated Lucian at the table, but Roxanne remained in the kitchen for some time, leaving Lucian without cutlery.

Puzzled, the boys called, "Mommy?"

Their voices snapped Roxanne back to reality. She quickly composed herself and rejoined them. Everyone at the table turned to look at her. Lucian's eyes darkened as he saw her expression.

Roxanne placed the cutlery before Lucian, then returned to her seat under everyone's gaze, maintaining a pretense of calm. A silence settled over the table. Even the children seemed unsure what to say, exchanging glances between Roxanne and Lucian, hoping one of them would speak.

Sensing their unspoken plea, Lucian suppressed his displeasure. "I've asked Aubree to move out," he said grimly.

His words stunned everyone. Roxanne looked up at him in surprise, her hand pausing mid-air with a fork. She hadn't expected him to act so quickly, having assumed Aubree would remain at his house for longer. He must have taken her advice.

The three children's eyes sparkled with delight. "Is it true, Daddy?" Estella tugged at his sleeve.

Lucian nodded. "It was my mother who wanted Aubree to live in my house. I never really agreed, and I've been wanting her to leave; I just never had a good reason." He looked at Roxanne. "Estella's illness gave me the perfect excuse, so I sent her to my mother's."

Estella, relieved, clapped excitedly. Roxanne, however, continued to stare at Lucian, understanding his explanation was intended for her. She pursed her lips, unsure what to say.

"Thank you, Ms. Jarvis!" Estella exclaimed, turning to Roxanne.

Roxanne's confusion deepened. She had little to do with Aubree's departure and didn't understand Estella's thanks.

"Daddy must've taken your advice and chased the evil Ms. Pearson away," Estella explained, tilting her head.

Roxanne looked at Lucian, who simply raised an eyebrow, neither confirming nor denying Estella's statement. The boys, interpreting his silence as agreement, were secretly pleased.

"Daddy made Ms. Pearson leave sooner because he considered your feelings," Roxanne said, feeling strangely guilty and slightly dazed by Lucian's actions.
