Chapter 822: Cleaning Up the Mess

Estella nodded obediently at her father's words. Lucian lifted her into his arms and returned to Roxanne's house. As they reached the entrance, they saw Roxanne's car arriving.

Lucian recognized the car instantly, and the temperature around him plummeted. Estella had been sobbing uncontrollably because of Roxanne, yet Roxanne seemed preoccupied with her appointment with Jack. Was work truly that important to her?

Inside, Archie and Benny were about to search for Estella after a long wait. They opened the door to find their grim-faced father holding Estella.

Estella peeked into the living room, but Roxanne was nowhere in sight. "Where's Ms. Jarvis?" she asked, her eyes still red. "Is she out looking for me?"

She patted her father's shoulder anxiously. "Daddy, hurry and call Ms. Jarvis and tell her to come back!" She feared Roxanne would panic if she couldn't find her.

Lucian pretended to comply, taking out his phone.

Archie and Benny exchanged a look before apologizing. "Mr. Farwell, you don't need to call Mommy. She... left." They hastily explained, "Mommy wanted to wait for you, but she was so upset, we persuaded her to go to work."

Estella wept again.

"Don't be sad, Essie. Mommy knows she was wrong. She's sad too," Archie and Benny quickly reassured her.

Lucian set Estella down, allowing the boys to continue comforting her. However, Estella remained downcast, clutching a corner of her father's shirt.

Archie frowned and took her other hand. "Mommy will be back after work and apologize. Don't be sad anymore, Essie."

Estella looked at them dubiously.

Benny added, "Essie, why don't you wait for Mommy to come back with us?" He glanced at Lucian. "Mr. Farwell, can Essie stay with us today?"

Lucian looked at Estella. She had already released his shirt and moved closer to Archie and Benny, clearly wanting to wait for Roxanne.

His frustration with Roxanne intensified, but his tone remained steady. "Be good and stay home. Don't open the door for strangers."

The children nodded obediently. Only after watching them enter and close the door did Lucian leave in his car, the black Bentley speeding towards the Queen residence.

His anger intensified during the drive. What was Roxanne thinking? How could she leave those two boys to clean up her mess? Was work really that vital?
