Chapter 884: Call Mr. Farwell

Snapping out of it, Roxanne beamed nonchalantly. "It's nothing. He's just checking if I'm home."

They remained unconvinced, their gazes fixed on her. Feeling distraught, Roxanne quickly shifted her attention from Jack to Estella. Glancing at her phone, she hesitated before searching for Lucian's number.

"I have to try, even if Lucian doesn't answer. It's better than waiting helplessly."

Clenching her fist, Roxanne called, striving to maintain her composure. The call interface appeared on her screen. The children fell silent, watching intently. They had completely forgotten Jack's earlier call.

Meanwhile, on the second floor of the Farwell residence, Lucian and Estella were in Estella's bedroom. Lucian's phone rang abruptly, disturbing Estella's sleep; she furrowed her brow. Lucian covered her ears, then checked his phone. A strange look crossed his face as he saw the caller ID.

Roxanne really cares about Essie. But does she prioritize Essie or her job...?

His phone rang for some time before Estella asked, "Daddy, why aren't you answering?" Lucian remained unmoved, letting the phone continue to ring. Eventually, a female mechanical voice announced the end of the call. Roxanne hung up.

As expected, Lucian hadn't answered. Anxiety gnawed at her, but she tried to reassure herself. If Lucian didn't answer, does that mean Estella's condition is stable?

Archie and Benny were surprised Lucian hadn't answered. "Mommy must have called Daddy many times," Archie observed. "He must be really mad at her, but it's not fair to hide Essie's condition from us!"

The children were furious. Silence descended once more. Then, Archie's smartwatch buzzed—a stock market reminder. He dismissed it instantly. "I don't care about losing money," he muttered. "Essie's more important."

Roxanne, hearing the alarm, had an idea. She looked at Archie, who stared back in puzzlement. Focusing on his smartwatch, she suggested, "Archie, why don't you call Mr. Farwell using your smartwatch?"

He's mad at me. He might answer Archie.

Archie and Benny immediately grasped the plan. Archie quickly found Lucian's contact and dialed. Roxanne was surprised to see Lucian's number on Archie's smartwatch. How did Archie get his number? I don't remember giving it to them.
