Silence filled the living room. Lucian lifted his head to see Roxanne asleep, Estella cradled in her arms. Roxanne's posture was awkward, preventing her from sleeping peacefully. Each slight shift caused her to tighten her grip on Estella. The scene tugged at Lucian's heartstrings.

Catalina returned to check on Estella. As she approached the couch, Lucian gestured for her to be quiet. Tiptoeing closer, Catalina smiled at the sleeping mother and daughter. The bond between them was undeniable. Years apart hadn't diminished Estella's instinctive attachment to her mother, nor Roxanne's love for her daughter.

Catalina frowned at their inadequate blanket and quietly retrieved a larger one. She offered it to Lucian, who hesitated before accepting. He carefully draped the blanket over them and tucked Roxanne in. As he was about to rise, his gaze fell on Roxanne's sleeping face. He was captivated. This was his first close look at her. She clearly wasn't sleeping well; her lashes fluttered, as if she might wake at any moment.

Suddenly, Roxanne frowned in her sleep, her head slipping off the couch. Lucian instinctively reached out, preventing her fall. She landed in his embrace, her soft cheek brushing against his palm. Lucian's gaze darkened. Afraid to wake her, he remained motionless. Roxanne was in his arms, Estella in Roxanne's.

This prompted a thought in Catalina. Ms. Jarvis had left six years ago, but a reconciliation wasn't impossible. She beamed at the pair and suggested, "Mr. Farwell, you should take them upstairs to rest. If Ms. Jarvis sleeps here, she'll be aching tomorrow. She has to work, right?"

Lucian pondered her suggestion, a deep line appearing between his brows. He then nodded curtly. Catalina gently took Estella, who remained asleep. Grinning, she said, "You'll need to carry Ms. Jarvis upstairs." She stepped aside, waiting for Lucian to act.

He paused before carefully lifting Roxanne. Her head lolled weakly against his shoulder as he stood. She remained asleep. Lucian stared at her, frowning. "She's as light as a feather," he thought. "Has she not been taking care of herself?"

Catalina smiled, pleased. "No matter what," she thought, "Mr. Farwell and Ms. Jarvis are the perfect couple!"
