Thea was speechless. She hadn't stopped James, and he'd beaten someone up again.
"Security!" the salesperson shouted.
Several security guards from the entrance approached menacingly. The commotion attracted other shoppers, who gathered, seemingly enjoying the spectacle.
Thea felt a pang of worry. "Jamie, let's go," she said, starting to pull him away. But the security guards blocked them.
"Go?" the salesperson said coldly. "After soiling the clothes? I don't think so."
Zach stood, roaring, "James, you're dead!" He immediately made a call. "Samson, it's me. Someone attacked me at the Gorgeous Boutique on South Dragon Street. Come with thirty men. We're breaking the other guy's leg."
After hanging up, he glared viciously at James. "Stay put, punk. You're dead."
Seeing the situation escalate, Thea became afraid. She tugged on James's arm. James patted her hand, calming her.
"It's okay. Call Yoel now. Get his dad to come immediately."
Thea noticed James's complete lack of fear. She reflected on the strange events since their marriage. He always seemed prepared.
After a moment's thought, she found Yoel's number and called.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, York was instructing Yoel to buy the Callahans a meal upon his recovery, to earn their forgiveness. Yoel readily agreed. Then, Yoel's phone rang.
Seeing it was Thea, he was so startled he dropped the phone.
"Useless boy!" York thundered, picking up the broken phone. He shuddered, recognizing Thea's name, and tossed the phone to a terrified Yoel. "Answer it!"
Yoel, more accurately terrified of James, picked up the phone. "Th-Thea? C-can I help you?"
His teeth chattered as he recalled James's violence.
"Yoel? I'm at Gorgeous Boutique on South Dragon Street. Do… do you know Zach Smith? He was shopping with his wife, and we offended him. Could you ask your father to call Zach and smooth things over?" Thea pleaded carefully. Instead of asking for an apology, she relied on Yoel's connections. Yoel put the call on speakerphone.
As soon as York heard Thea's request, he fumed. "Piece of trash. I'll teach Zach a lesson!" He stormed out.
Back at the boutique, Xena scoffed, seeing Thea on the phone. "Yoel? So what if you know him? The Smiths won't side with outsiders."
Yoel hung up, terrified. Hearing Thea had offended Zach, he shook so violently he dropped and broke his phone.
"Zach, you better behave yourself. Otherwise, I'll kill you myself when I'm out of the hospital," Yoel roared.
Zach laughed. "Haha, are you calling my cousin? This is hilarious!"
With Yoel's inaction, Thea's anxiety grew. She looked at the guards, Zach, the salesperson—all menacing. A crowd had gathered. Terror gripped her.
"Jamie, what should we do?"
"It'll be okay. Let's go inside and sit down."
James led Thea to the boutique's lounge. He calmly peeled an apple and offered it to her. "Darling, here. Have some apple."
She looked at Xena, Zach, the salesperson, and the guards, her heart pounding. How could she eat? They'd damaged so many clothes! And Zach had called for thirty men… She was close to tears.
"Jamie, think of something!"
