"Hmm?" James frowned. Yuna smiled.

"Don't worry," she said. "I'll make sure Thea gets home safely."

James looked at Thea. Thea, too, was puzzled by Yuna's sudden friendliness. Was it because of the man in the ghost mask? She wanted to learn more about the person who had saved her ten years ago, hoping to uncover who had rescued her from Trent.

"Jamie," Thea said, thinking aloud, "why don't you go home? I'll go shopping with Ms. Lawson."

James, relieved by Thea's agreement, nodded. "Okay. Be careful. Give me a call if anything happens."

Yuna grabbed Thea's hand and they walked away, Yuna smiling at James and waving as they left. James didn't think much of it; with Yuna around, Thea would be fine. He left the boutique.

After Thea got into Yuna's race car, James left on his electric motorcycle. He didn't go home, however; instead, he went to Common Clinic. The door was closed, but he had a key. He entered, locked the door behind him, and took a nap in the back room. It wasn't until evening that Henry and Scarlett ("Black Rose") returned.

James heard noises, woke up, and came out of the back room.

"Ah, James, you're here too?" Scarlett was surprised. "Yeah," James replied monosyllabically. "How are things going?"

Henry smiled. "It only took us an afternoon. The city's trade center is now under your name. You can start looking for investors."

"Got it." James sat down and lit a cigarette from the table.

"Oh yeah," Henry continued, "did any of The Great Four show up at Cadens' cemetery?" Henry shook his head. "I had men watching. None of them appeared." James's expression darkened.

"James…" Henry hesitated.

"Speak."

After a pause, Henry said, "According to our latest intel, there were others at the Cadens' property besides The Great Four."

Slam! James slammed his hand on the table, shattering it. Scarlett shuddered.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Henry looked apologetic. "I'm sorry, James. I was careless. I focused so much on The Great Four that I overlooked details."

"Who else was there?" James demanded.

"The Great Four were definitely there," Henry said, "but the others are unknown. They never revealed themselves. Let's just say that ten years ago, it wasn't just The Great Four who conspired against the Cadens. The Cansington underworld was involved, and there's a mastermind behind it all."

James knew there was a mastermind—whoever possessed Moonlit Flowers on Cliffside's Edge.

"Who else was there?" he repeated.

"James," Henry explained, "all our resources are in the Southern Plains. Now that the Blithe King is commander-in-chief, I don't have the authority to access Cansington's intelligence network. I can't find out who else was involved."

"The Blithe King," James mused, before waving a hand. "Keep this out of the Blithe King's hands."

"If so, there's only one person who can help us."

"Who?"

"Jake Graham, known as 'the Boss.' He trades in information; he apparently knows everything. His sources are extensive, reaching far beyond Cansington. His underground network can access information even some officials can't."

"Get in touch with Jake. I want to know who else was involved in the Cadens' downfall ten years ago, besides The Great Four."

"I'm on it."

James leaned back, inhaling deeply. He hadn't expected the events of ten years ago to be so complicated. But it didn't matter who they were; if they were involved, they faced only one end: death.
