Luke confessed to Yuna, but she decisively refused him, belittling him. She even declared her affection for James. This surprised everyone.

All eyes turned to James. At the high-class event, he was conspicuously out of place in his simple clothing. The women wore glamorous dresses, and the men sported colorful suits and ties. James, however, wore a plain black t-shirt and was engrossed in Plants vs. Zombies. Suddenly, a horde of zombies overwhelmed his garden, destroying his pea shooter.

“Argh! I lost!” he exclaimed, his disappointment audible to the entire room. His outburst stunned the crowd. He looked up, startled by the hundreds of eyes upon him. He checked his face in his phone. "I don't see anything," he muttered.

Luke, still kneeling, watched James, his anger rising. Yuna chuckled. "You can pursue me when you become a man like James," she said. "You're not qualified now, Luke." She then mischievously looked at Thea. "Thea, you're the one who said you'd give him to me! Since that's the case, I won't hold back."

Under everyone's gaze, Yuna approached James. With a charming smile, she extended a slender hand. "Mr. Caden, may I invite you to a dance?" The scene shocked everyone.

Who was Yuna? She was a Lawson from the Capital, the executive chairman of Longevity Pharmaceuticals in Cansington—a wealthy heiress, a goddess. A goddess inviting the Callahans' live-in son-in-law to a dance? Everyone was dumbfounded, convinced they were hallucinating.

James was equally stunned. Luke stood up, approaching them with displeasure. "Yuna, even if you don't like me or won't accept me, you don't have to use such trash as an excuse to insult me." He believed Yuna was using James as a shield to reject him. "At least choose someone decent, someone like Mr. Grayson, the owner of the Gourmand, instead of him…"

He glared at James, who sat on the sofa. "You call that calm behavior at such an event? It's probably because he knows his place and doesn't know anyone to talk to. Of course he's playing on his phone."

Luke's words resonated, revealing the truth to the stunned onlookers. "No wonder!" "I knew the executive chairman couldn't possibly like James!" Thea chimed in, understanding Yuna's strategy. She liked Yuna, having shopped with her the previous day.

Seeing Yuna's plan, Thea winked at James. "What are you waiting for, James? Ms. Lawson is asking you to dance." "Darling…" Thea began, but James interrupted.

"Who are you calling darling? I've already given you to Ms. Lawson." Thea smiled mischievously.

"Am I an object to be given away?" James protested. "Mr. Caden…" Yuna said, a touch of expectation in her eyes, "It's my twenty-fifth birthday. Will you honor me with this dance?"

James looked at Thea, seeking her opinion. "It's a pleasure that Ms. Lawson wants to dance with you. Go ahead," Thea said, pulling James up and placing his hand in Yuna's.

Yuna's hands were smooth and delicate. James, however, still didn't understand the situation.

"Darling, I…" Thea interrupted, "It's alright. Go on. I won't be jealous." She gently pushed him toward Yuna.
