Listen to this chapter:

Nelson Moore, driving a BMW X5, worked for a well-known figure in the criminal underworld who owned a club in Cansington. Nelson's job was to find unsuspecting women at bus stations, train stations, and airports. He would approach attractive out-of-towners, lure them into his car, and drug their drinks. Once unconscious, he would take photos to blackmail them into working at his boss's club.

Nelson spotted Xara, a stunning woman who he believed would be highly profitable. He thought, "I have to get her." He exited the BMW, his white suit, Rolex (a counterfeit), and gold necklace (also fake) intended to impress. He approached Xara with a practiced smile, saying, "It must be your first time in Cansington, beauty. Even if you're not interested in selling, I'm a local and can be your tour guide." He gestured to his car. "This is a top-of-the-line BMW X5. My family isn't wealthy, but we own five city apartments and a suburban villa. I work in a family business with over a billion dollars in assets," he boasted.

This was his usual tactic, and it worked flawlessly—until now. Xara, unimpressed, retorted, "Do you not understand what I said? I asked you to go away."

Nelson, surprised by her resistance, offered her bottled water. At that moment, a million-dollar Audi pulled up, and a handsome man approached, greeting Xara.

"Xara," he said. She frowned. "Why are you here? Did Mom tell you?"

"Your aunt said you'd be arriving today and asked me to pick you up. I've reserved a table at Gourmand. Let's get something to eat."

Xara, noticing James hadn't arrived, considered this and nodded.

Nelson, enraged, shouted, "Who are you, brat?"

The man, Francis Leland, Xara's college classmate and long-time admirer, explained. He had cultivated a good relationship with Xara's mother, receiving gifts regularly, which allowed him to learn of her arrival.

"Who are you?" Francis asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Listen, brat. I'm Nelson Moore. My boss is Frank Ziegler, known as 'Mad Dog' in the East District," Nelson threatened.

Francis paled, quickly offering Nelson a cigarette. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to offend you."

Nelson contemptuously accepted, lighting the cigarette with Francis's help. Xara had initially considered dating Francis, given his persistent courtship and her mother's approval, but she was disappointed by his behavior.

Nelson, puffing his cigarette, stated, "This woman is mine. Get lost."
