Listen to this chapter:

"Yes," James said, not denying it. He boasted, "Scarlett's House of Royals belongs to me, and I can go whenever I want. I also arranged for Xara to work at the Transgenerational Group. Scarlett will do as I say."

Thea rolled her eyes. "We flatter you a little, and you invent even more outrageous lies?"

The Callahans glanced at him contemptuously. His lies were outrageous.

"By your words, that means Scarlett is your wife, and you invited the Blithe King to the House of Royals today?" Tommy said coldly.

James glanced at Tommy. "Of course."

"What a liar," Tommy snorted.

The other family members looked at him condescendingly. They no longer needed to curry favor with James, as he hadn't solved the family crisis. Xara was from the same family as Gladys, the Hills. Her connection to James was unclear.

James had told the truth, but the Callahans didn't believe him, and he couldn't do anything about it. It wasn't that they didn't want to believe him; he simply lacked evidence to support his claims. How could a retired soldier, dependent on the Callahans for survival, wield such influence? If he were truly that powerful, the Callahans would have struck it rich and grown rapidly.

"Thea, thank you for getting us through this. Handing the Callahans' affairs to you was the wisest choice. Grandpa believes you'll lead us to great success," Lex said, looking at Thea. "Grandpa has one more question."

"Go ahead, Grandpa."

"Who was the person you saved ten years ago?" Lex asked. Recent events—particularly the incident at Yuna's birthday party where several influential people defended Thea—piqued his curiosity. He knew it was because of the person Thea had saved, but lacked details.

Everyone's eyes fixed on Thea, awaiting her answer.

"About that" Thea hesitated, glancing at James. "I I don't know his identity. His face was severely burned; I couldn't identify him. I only know he killed the heads of the Great Four and was shot by the Blithe King."

"He was executed, but why are these big shots still so respectful?" Lex questioned.

"Dad, the Cadens were Cansington's top family. Thomas was very social and well-connected globally. Keeping their promise because of the Cadens' name is understandable," Howard explained. Lex nodded. "That sounds reasonable."

James remained silent. Thea fell into thought about the ghost-masked man, a trace of disappointment on her face. His execution meant she'd never learn his real identity—never know whom she'd saved and who'd returned the favor.

Soon, Xara called. "Thea, Ms. Brooks agreed to meet. It's at the Gourmand, right? What time? She squeezed this in, so don't keep her waiting. Otherwise, I can't help the Callahans."

Overjoyed, Thea replied, "Six in the evening, Diamond Room at the Gourmand."

"Alright. I'll inform Ms. Brooks." Xara hung up.

The Callahans' faces lit up. Their crisis was over.

Lex frowned. "Thea, there are only a few Diamond Rooms at the Gourmand in Cansington. Are you sure we have a reservation?"

Before Thea could answer, Gladys interjected smugly, "Aren't you aware of Thea's capabilities? The last time we dined at the Gourmand, Mr. Grayson personally gave Thea a diamond membership card. She gets three free meals a month and ten percent off others."

"Seriously?"
