Hank dragged Thea onto the couch, her clothes in tatters. She was losing her mind. Hank, wearing a playful expression, acted like a cat toying with a mouse.
"Come on, Thea. Beg me. Beg me!"
Thea bit her lip, refusing to speak, even though her body could barely endure.
Suddenly, a crash! Someone kicked down the locked office door. The door splintered, and a furious man rushed in, his veins bulging.
"Wh-who are you?"
Hank turned to see the collapsing door and the man. The room felt instantly colder, as if plunged into ice. He shivered involuntarily.
James approached. "Who are you?"
Seeing Thea on the couch, soaked and her clothes torn, James's anger flared. He produced two silver needles. With a swoosh, they flew, striking Hank.
"Ah…" Hank moaned, now blind.
James grabbed Hank's arm, snapping it with a crack. He then stomped on Hank's knee, fracturing it, sending him collapsing limply to the ground. A foot landed on Hank's chest; James pressed down, easily breaking his ribs.
Hank was stunned, then terrified. Was this the devil? He'd lost his sight, limbs, and ribs before he even fully understood what was happening.
The security guards, pale and petrified, stood at the office entrance, paralyzed. James stamped on Hank's heart.
"Ah…" Hank screamed, his voice cut short. His head drooped; he was dead.
After killing Hank, James approached Thea on the couch.
"Thea, it's me, James…"
Thea, losing consciousness, opened her eyes slightly at the familiar voice. Breathing a sigh of relief at seeing James, she whispered, "Jamie…."
"Shhh. I'll take you home."
James gave Thea a pill that immediately knocked her out. He knew the drugs were still in her system and needed to counteract them before they caused permanent damage—dementia at best, death at worst. Using his silver needles, he released the toxins from her body. Then, carrying Thea, he left.
Several security guards, some armed with electric batons, stood at the office entrance, but none dared stop him. They retreated as he approached.
Nee-naw, nee-naw… Police sirens wailed outside. James frowned and made a call.
The Blithe King was in a meeting when his phone rang. Recognizing the unknown number, he silenced the meeting. "Hello? Who is this?"
"It's me, James. I killed someone at Ella Corporation. The police are coming. Cover it up."
"Black Dragon, I'm not your subordinate. You can't tell me what to do."
"I'll murder all the witnesses, then."
"D-don't be rash. I'll get it done!"
