Listen to this chapter:

The Blithe King's subordinates immediately made arrangements. He then instructed them: "Retrieve all surveillance footage from Ella Corporation. Comfort the families of James's victims, providing necessary treatment and compensation. Detain all security guards who witnessed James's actions today and make them sign non-disclosure agreements. Any information about today's events must remain confidential; otherwise, they will be held accountable. Finally, announce to the public that this was a joint military and police exercise."

The Blithe King quickly resolved the matter. Regarding the deceased, Hank, an investigation revealed his connection to the Wilsons, one of Cansington's Great Four families. Personnel were dispatched to inform the Wilsons that Hank had been recruited for secret, specialized training and would be unavailable for a short time. In reality, his body was cremated.

James, driven home by the Blithe King, found his house empty. He carried the sleeping Thea to bed, noticing her soaked clothes. Slightly frowning, he retrieved a dress from the closet and changed her. The legendary Dragon General of the Southern Plains had never dressed a woman before; it took him nearly thirty minutes. To help her sleep, he massaged her acupressure points.

Thea awoke in the evening, remembering the day's events. Trembling, she pulled the quilt around her, until she realized she was home. A sigh of relief escaped her lips.

"Thea, are you awake?"

James, wearing an apron, entered. "Dinner's ready. We can eat when Mom and Dad get back."

Thea sobbed, overwhelmed with grief. James sat beside her; she immediately threw her arms around him and cried.

"Everything's alright. I arrived in time. Nothing happened to you. The Ella Corporation HR manager was arrested and faces several years in prison."

Relieved, Thea sighed. Fortunately, James arrived in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been disastrous. Still, thinking about it scares me, she thought.

"Thank you, James."

"You need to be more cautious. Your beauty mesmerizes men. I'll have to follow you everywhere from now on!"

Thea chuckled. "My clothes did you change them?"

"Yeah."

"Including my underwear?"

James blushed. "You were soaking wet, and I was worried about you catching a cold. I changed them after we got home. I didn't see anything; I did it with my eyes closed!"

"Pfft, stupid! I'm your wife! Why would you close your eyes? I only remember you breaking into the office; I can't recall anything after that. What happened?"

James was captivated by Thea's smile. What is an alluring smile? Hers, probably.
