Listen to this chapter:

Thea called James, informing him that the problem was settled. James returned home, prepared lunch, and waited for Thea and the others. They returned quickly, but their strange expressions—even tears on Thea and Alyssa's faces—alarmed him.

Doubtfully, James asked, "Thea, is something wrong? I thought everything was resolved. Why didn't David come back with you?"

Thea glanced at him, crying. "What's wrong?" she sobbed.

"Tell me if something's wrong. I can solve it," James consoled her.

Gladys sighed. "What's wrong, Mom? Why are you sighing?" James asked.

The family remained silent. They entered the house, sat down, and James served them rice. "Come, let's discuss this while eating," he suggested.

Then Thea said, tears welling in her eyes, "James, let's get a divorce."

James froze. After a moment, he sat down, lit a cigarette, and quietly asked, "Why?"

Gladys apologized, "I'm so sorry, James. You may not have money or influence, but you're a caring husband and do the chores well. However, you and Thea aren't suitable." She noted his kindness, even arranging transportation for her to the military region, a moment she cherished. However, she felt Thea deserved more.

"What exactly happened?" James asked.

The family remained silent until Benjamin, prompted by Gladys, recounted the events.

James left after hearing the story. Thea, her voice choked, wanted to follow but was stopped by Gladys. "Thea, let him go. It's hard to accept. He'll come around. You can compensate him later. After all, he cured you twice!"

Thea cried. She didn't love Yoel or want a wealthy family; she adored James. But she chose family over love, knowing he likely despised her and her family.

James took a taxi to the Prosperous Dynasty, a famous leisure club in Cansington.

In the Prosperous Dynasty basement, David was bound and hanging. Xander, having investigated David's background, relieved to find him merely "trash" from the Callahans, smirked. "David Callahan. I didn't want to mess with you, but why did you have to bump into me?"
