Chapter 74: Who Are You to Judge Me?

Vivienne and Derek bypassed their usual Lonsong Restaurant, opting instead for Vivienne's favored Gourmet Spot. Nestled in a narrow lane, Gourmet Spot had been transformed from a dilapidated courtyard house into a stylish private club. It retained its historic architecture while incorporating a modern, two-story addition styled in vintage décor, exuding an air of timeless charm.

Upon entering, they were greeted by twin glass tanks, where lotus blossoms floated above darting fish. Beyond, a staircase led to the private dining areas on the second floor, overlooking a pool surrounded by statues and dotted with flowers. A mist hung above the pool, lending an ethereal quality to the scene. The melodic voice of a woman singing into a microphone drifted from among the trees.

As Vivienne and Derek walked to their reserved room, she noted the owner's evident deference to Derek, fueling her suspicion that he controlled the establishment. During dinner, Derek attentively served Vivienne, only to notice her intense gaze. "Would you be interested in visiting my grandmother with me tonight?" he asked.

She gently shook her head. "I'm otherwise engaged later."

Derek accepted her response gracefully. "I'll escort you there later, then."

Their meal concluded at one o'clock. As they prepared to leave, Vivienne's phone rang; it was Everett. "Vivienne, it's been ages since our last chess game," he said.

"Things have been rather hectic lately," she replied.

Everett sighed wearily. "I understand. It's Warren's loss that he didn't choose you. Don't forget, my eightieth birthday is approaching, and I'd love for you to be there. At this stage of my life, every day is precious. It's my wish to see you one last time."

Vivienne had initially intended to return Everett's bracelet and sever their ties. However, his straightforward request left her no choice.

"Alright," she said softly.

"Then I'll expect you," Everett replied.

Ending the call, Vivienne headed towards the entrance to wait for Derek. At that moment, several people emerged from a first-floor private room, led by Warren. He paused, momentarily disbelieving his eyes, before stepping closer to confirm it was Vivienne. Maintaining his composure, he addressed Mr. Mason of Sinclair Group: "Mr. Mason, I've just seen a friend. Excuse me a moment."

Mason, slightly inebriated, gestured casually. "Certainly."

Warren hurried to Vivienne, seizing her arm and pulling her to a quiet corner. His tone was sharp with accusation. "Vivienne, what are you doing here?"

"Release me!" Vivienne demanded, wrenching free, her eyes blazing. "My presence here is none of your concern."

Warren gritted his teeth. "This place isn't open to just anyone."

The Gourmet Spot was an exclusive retreat, catering not only to the wealthy but to those who valued privacy; only a hundred VIP memberships were granted annually. It was a place for those with influence and wealth, or those accompanied by someone powerful.

Narrowing his eyes, Warren sneered, "I didn't think you'd stoop to this for a taste of luxury."

Before Warren could continue, Vivienne slapped him sharply across the face. Her eyes flashed, her voice chilling. "Who are you to judge me, Warren?"
