Chapter 97

Rosalie’s expression softened into a smile at Sienna’s comment. “It seems everyone has changed, yet you remain as you were.”

Sienna raised an eyebrow, her eyes playfully scanning Rosalie. “So, I’ve been stationary all this time?” she teased, noting Rosalie’s figure. “You’ve undergone quite a transformation.”

With a flirtatious smirk, Rosalie leaned in, a cigarette dangling from her lips. “Care for a feel?”

“Rosalie, can’t you show a little restraint?” Sienna said softly, her cheeks flushing.

Observing their playful exchange, Vivienne paused to ask, “Rosalie, do you plan on leaving after your visit?”

“I’m unsure,” Rosalie said, extinguishing her cigarette in the ashtray. “I’m taking things as they come.”

Scarlett entered, acknowledging Sienna and Rosalie with a nod before addressing Vivienne. “The earlier issue has been resolved.”

Vivienne acknowledged Scarlett, then turned to Rosalie. “Ready for those promotional shots in the studio?”

“Absolutely,” Rosalie replied, rising to follow Scarlett.

Later, Sienna excused herself upon Harvey’s arrival. Vivienne greeted him, offering a glass of water. “What brings you here?”

Harvey sat on the couch. “Cameron was busy, so he asked me to check on you. I was nearby and decided to drop by.” His gaze lingered on Vivienne. “Are you feeling better?”

“Much better, thank you,” she replied, sitting down.

Harvey took a sip, his eyes lingering on the cigarette butts in the ashtray. A flicker of something dark crossed his gaze as he tightened his grip on the glass. He asked casually, “When did Sienna start smoking?”

“Actually, it wasn’t Sienna; it was a friend,” Vivienne explained.

Harvey played with the rim of his glass, a subtle smile appearing. “Someone familiar to me?”

“You might recall Rosalie.”

He wasn’t surprised. A subtle smile lit up his eyes as he murmured, “Oh, Rosalie, of course.”

Unaware of Harvey’s expression, Vivienne added, “I could use some help finding an apartment near work.”

“Finding a place shouldn’t be difficult. I own a vacant one nearby. I’ll arrange to have the keys sent to you.”

Their conversation concluded quickly, and Harvey departed.

The long-awaited celebration of Everett’s 80th birthday finally arrived after a hectic week. Vivienne made a detour to Timeless Treasures, a renowned antique shop in Lyhaton, on her way to Everett’s home. A clerk greeted her upon arrival. She browsed the aisles, selected a pen holder, and had it wrapped.

Leaving the shop, Vivienne proceeded directly to Everett’s home. Everett’s 80th birthday was a grand affair, especially with the Mitchell family’s new prominence in the city, attracting many seeking favor. To avoid complications, Vivienne entered through a side door, quietly reaching Everett’s quarters. The Mitchell family was enjoying coffee and conversation. Their conversation ceased abruptly, faces registering surprise, as they noticed Vivienne entering the room.
