When Freya mentioned the past, Johanna shamelessly retorted, “How can boys and girls be the same? Besides, you’ve taken over the company. What about Leland? Doesn’t he need to attend these parties to meet influential people? If you say no, I’ll ask Mr. Sutton. He’ll surely side with his future mother-in-law!”

Hearing this, Freya let out a cold laugh. Future mother-in-law? It seemed only Johanna’s wishful thinking. Kieran had never paid Johanna any mind, not to mention taking her as his would-be mother-in-law.

“Johanna, why don’t you try begging Kieran and see if he agrees?” With that, Freya hung up the phone.

Luna, beside her, quickly asked, “What did she say this time?”

Freya sneered, “She wants to throw Leland a birthday party at the Majestic Manor Hotel.”

“What? The Majestic Manor Hotel?” Luna was shocked. “Even our family would struggle to book a room there! The Majestic Manor Hotel is really picky about who they let in. That witch sure dreams big!”

“She mentioned she’d ask Kieran. Let her. It’s not me who’s going to end up embarrassed.”

Freya knew all too well that Leland was a lost cause. Throwing such a grand party for him, he’d probably end up drunk and lost. God knows how he might embarrass Kieran.

“Let’s not worry about it. We’ve got classes to attend,” Freya said, pulling Luna along.

Meanwhile, one guard reported, “Mr. Sutton, I’ve looked into it. Ms. Orson must have made a mistake.”

Kieran wasn’t satisfied with that answer. ‘Mistaken? Or intentional?’ These questions gave him a headache.

“Let’s head back to the office,” Kieran said with a frown, getting into the car to leave Summit University. Just then, Johanna’s call came through.

He picked up the phone with hardly any patience, only to hear Johanna wailing on the other end. “Mr. Sutton, Freya is just being totally unreasonable!”

“Get to the point,” Kieran said; he had no time for Johanna’s tears.

Johanna quickly said, “I asked her to book a birthday party for Leland! And she didn’t care at all! Mr. Sutton, you do need to discipline your fiancée. She’s getting more disobedient… ”
