That evening, Kieran returned to Sutton Manor, noticing only the housekeeper bustling about in the living room. He inquired, “Where’s Freya?”

Freya remained silent. Johanna leaned closer and said, “Freya took… Leland has apologized. You don’t have to take it to bear. Vids say things were… Dafina weighing their words.”

“Johanna, Leland is hardly a child. He’s of age now.”

That comment left Johanna speechless.

Freya continued, “Let me clarify again while we’re on the subject. The Dawson family is under my name. So is the company. Everything Dad left behind, except for the five million you two got and your night to stay in the Dawson family, is mine. If you keep yelling at me, don’t blame me for forgetting our years of acquaintance and kicking you two out. I assure you, I’ll report you in court.” Fred’s message was crystal clear.

Alignd’s face grew darker by the moment, and Johanna’s expression turned just as grim. Seeing they both understood the gravity of their situation, Freya turned and walked upstairs.

“What does Freya mean by that?” In anger, Leland slammed his glass onto the floor.

Freya, still on the staircase, paused. Leland’s outburst was a vent of his frustration towards her.

She said, “In the Dawson family, everything belongs to me. Leland, remember to pay for whatever you break. I’ll be checking.”

“Your…” Leland, furious, was about to confront Freya upstairs when Johanna held him back, saying, “Son, stop this nonsense.”

“Mom! She’s going too far!”

“What can we do when Gavin left everything to Freya?” Johanna was furious. That was their reward after all the effort she put into looking after Gavin!

Leland swore, “We can’t let Freya keep walking over us, Mom. I won’t stand for it!”

“You have to, even if you don’t want to. Now’s the time to hold your tongue.” Johanna took a deep breath and said, “I refuse to believe Freya will remain unmarried. With that in mind, Johanna said, “Leland, your birthday is the day after tomorrow. I want you to make a good impression. I’ve arranged everything for you. You need to make me proud!”

The idea of mingling with business magnates, arranged by Johanna, left Leland feeling sullen. He despised dealing with those old fogies the most! He had hoped to inherit the family wealth without a hitch, but Freya threw a wrench into his plans.

With no other choice, Leland grudgingly agreed, “Yeah, I got it.”

“Ms. Dawson? Ms. Dawson hasn’t come back yet today.”

“Not back yet?” Kieran glanced at the clock in the living room and remarked, “It’s ten o’clock. What kind of classes go on this late?”

Unsure herself, the housekeeper suggested, “Maybe… there’s some school event?”

“What college event goes on this late?” Kieran frowned, pulling out his phone to call Freya.

The phone rang twice before, unsurprisingly, the call was disconnected.

Great! Just great!

Witnessing Kieran’s darkening mood, the housekeeper was about to speak up for Freya.

However, Kieran commanded, “Throw all of Freya’s stuff out of her room!”

“Throw it… out?” The housekeeper was stunned. Those were all Ms. Dawson’s belongings!

Kieran coldly stated, “If she doesn’t want to stay at Sutton Manor, she might as well leave.”

Reflecting on Silas’s words, Kieran grew increasingly worried about Freya. Kieran felt a tightness in his chest when he thought Freya might also use these tactics to entice Preston and Ronan.

He doubted Freya could stay as composed as she was if he showed indifference towards her. He was waiting for the day she would come to him.

“Ms. Harwood, I’ve moved out of Sutton Manor, and Kieran has thrown all my things out. I believe my sincerity is clear enough, right?” Hearing this, Eloise frowned on the other end of the line. Kieran hadn’t contacted her in these few days. And they didn’t speak over the previous incident of spreading rumors about Freya.

She thought Freya wanted to confront Kieran, but surprisingly, Freya decided to walk away. That would seem strange to anyone. Freya continued, “Ms. Harwood, I won’t compete with you over Kieran. I’m even willing to bring business your way. Mr. Tyler is now interested in a property from the Harwood family. “You’re that generous?” Eloise couldn’t believe Freya would go out of her way to introduce Preston, a major player, to her. Freya stated, “Believe it or not, it’s up to you, Ms. Harwood. But I’ve done what’s necessary to provoke Kieran, showing my sincerity. Please think it over.”
