Chapter 245

Kieran shot Freya a frosty glance. He knew the gears turning in Freyaโ€™s mindโ€”she was looking for an excuse to distance herself from him! Well, he wasnโ€™t about to make things easy for her.

โ€œKieran, Ms. Dawson has made herself clear. Letโ€™s not push her further,โ€ Audrey stated coldly, seizing the moment to sever ties between Freya and Kieran. โ€œMs. Dawson is focused on her studies, right? Letโ€™s rent her an apartment near Summit University so she can recuperate close to campus.โ€

โ€œGrandma, sheโ€ฆโ€

โ€œEnough! Weโ€™ll handle it this way.โ€

As the matriarch of the Sutton family, Audrey had the final say. She quickly turned to Nancy. โ€œNancy, pack up what Ms. Dawson needs.โ€

โ€œYes, maโ€™amโ€ฆโ€ Nancy glanced at Kieran, troubled.

โ€œGrandma, itโ€™s late, and Ms. Dawson is injured. Itโ€™s not wise for her to move now. Iโ€™ll have Jarrett find a place first thing tomorrow, and then we can help Ms. Dawson move,โ€ Kieran interjected, his voice cold.

Audrey had initially wanted to dismiss Freya immediately, but given her injuries, it would look bad to make her leave. So she grudgingly gave in. โ€œMs. Dawson, come here. I need to speak with you.โ€ Audrey said this and walked to a sofa on the far side of the room.

Struggling without her crutches, Freya found it hard to move. But Audrey had deliberately chosen the farthest sofa.

Nancy was packing, and Freya couldnโ€™t seek Kieranโ€™s help, so Freya had no choice but to limp toward Audrey, enduring the pain with every step.

Noticing her struggle, Kieran quickly stepped forward to support her.

Freya frowned instinctively, wanting to shrug off Kieranโ€™s hand, but he didnโ€™t give her the chance.

Audrey watched this unfold, biting back her displeasure for the moment.

When Freya reached Audrey, Kieran pushed a chair toward her, saying, โ€œSit.โ€

Freya wanted to sit but hesitated after seeing Audreyโ€™s expression as she sipped her coffee. Offending Audrey seemed far worse than offending Kieran.

Seeing Freyaโ€™s hesitation, Kieran pressed her down into the chair a bit roughly, causing Freya to wince in pain.

Audrey frowned, setting down her coffee cup. โ€œMs. Dawson, Iโ€™ve found a suitable fiancรฉe for Kieran. Itโ€™s inconvenient for you to remain here, so I hope you understand.โ€

Hearing Audrey talk about selecting a fiancรฉe, Kieranโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œGrandma, I have no plans of getting married yet.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not for you to decide.โ€ Audreyโ€™s response was indifferent. โ€œIโ€™ve spoken with Ms. Miller. The Miller family might not be noble, but they are respectable. Ms. Miller is dignified and gentle. Most importantly, she has a good temperament. Iโ€™ll arrange for you to meet her tomorrow. Be prepared.โ€

Freya wasnโ€™t surprised to hear that. Everyone knew Ms. Miller of the Miller family was raised as the epitome of a lady.
