Chapter 301

Watching Freya gasping for air, Kieran suddenly retracted his hand, looking as if jolted back to his senses. In a moment of rage, he had still hurt Freya despite his efforts to restrain himself.

โ€œCough, cough!โ€

Clutching her throat, Freya coughed several times in succession.

Kieran frowned, his voice tinged with regret. โ€œI didnโ€™t mean toโ€ฆโ€

โ€œEnough!โ€ Freya had no desire to hear any apologies from Kieran. She didnโ€™t owe him anything. If it werenโ€™t for Kieran constantly threatening her with the Dawson Group, she wouldnโ€™t have to be all smiles before him.

โ€œSutton, can you leave now?โ€

When facing Freyaโ€™s icy demeanor, Kieranโ€™s face darkened. โ€œYou were gone all day. I was worried about you!โ€

โ€œWorried about me? I must thank you for the concern then, Mr. Sutton.โ€ Freyaโ€™s reply sounded with sarcasm.

After seeing Freyaโ€™s disdain for him, Kieranโ€™s emotions surged as he stepped closer. โ€œWhat did I ever do to you? Why do you look so irritated every time you see me? Freya, you werenโ€™t like this before. What did I do wrong? Tell me!โ€

โ€œNo, Mr. Sutton, you did nothing wrong. Itโ€™s my fault.โ€

It was her fault. It was her fault to have fallen for someone she shouldnโ€™t have. It was her fault to have been hopelessly devoted for three years only to be coldly cast aside. These were her choices, so she had no right to hate Kieran. But it didnโ€™t mean she couldnโ€™t despise him!

Since her rebirth, Freya didnโ€™t intend to seek revenge against Kieran and Eloise. She only wanted to stay far away from them. But the more she retreated, the more Kieran pursued.

Freya couldnโ€™t make sense of it. How could someone be so despicable? When she loved him, he ignored her. Now that she had stopped, he was chasing her relentlessly. Was this a common flaw in all men?

Freya said, โ€œKieran, please stay away from me from now on. I donโ€™t want to see you!โ€

Seeing the disgust in Freyaโ€™s eyes, Kieran felt as if a thorn had pierced his heart. Images of Freya trying to please him in the past flooded his mind. Back then, he looked at Freya with the same disdain.

โ€œFreya, how dare you?โ€ Kieran grabbed Freyaโ€™s arm, paying no heed to the wound.

Freya winced in pain but maintained her composure, her gaze icy as she looked at Kieran. โ€œKieran! You didnโ€™t cherish me when I loved you. Now that I donโ€™t and Iโ€™ve walked away, youโ€™re not happy? How can you be so despicable?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re calling me despicable?โ€

No one had ever dared to insult him like that! Kieranโ€™s expression grew darker. Disregarding Freyaโ€™s resistance, he leaned in to kiss her again. But it was more of a bite than a kiss.

Kieran was forceful, and soon, the taste of blood spread in their mouths.

Freya, refusing to tolerate his behavior, drove her knee into Kieranโ€™s abdomen and slapped him hard across the face. The motion was fluid, even though it aggravated her wounds.
