Chapter 308
โIโm here for the study materials.โ
The message was short and to the point. Standing at the front of the classroom, the class representative couldnโt help but gulp as he looked at the figure in a black suit waiting at the door.
โHereโฆ here you goโฆโ Carefully, he handed over the review materials to the intimidating visitor.
Without another word, the man in the black suit turned and walked out of the classroom. As soon as he was gone, an eerie silence fell over the room.
โWho was that guy?โ
โHow would I know? I told you not to post that stuff in the group chat. Now look what happened!โ
Benny had prepared some review materials, but she had done so with the mischievous intention of pranking Freya. She had gathered outdated textbooks from over a decade ago. If anyone studied from those materials, theyโd be in trouble.
โIs Freya even going to show up?โ
โI bet she wonโt. How could she face anyone now?โ
โYeah, after being dumped by Mr. Sutton, I wouldnโt show my face at school, either.โ
Jenny stomped her foot in frustration, upset that her plan to lure Freya out hadnโt worked.
Soon enough, Hans brought the review materials back to the Tyler Mansion. Freya had been poring over countless books in preparation. Seeing the materials Hans had brought, she couldnโt help but laugh. It was another petty trick by her classmates.
Seeing Freya didnโt bother to look at the materials before setting them aside, Hans asked, โMs. Dawson, donโt you need these?โ
โTheyโre not completely useless. I can at least use the back for handwriting practice,โ Freya said nonchalantly as she flipped the papers over and began to write.
As the evening grew darker, Freya had yet to check the messages on her phone. When she finally turned it over, she found Ronan had sent her the documents for the Southern Suburb project.
โJust show me when youโre done.โ Preston approached her, and Freya instinctively hid her phone. She wasnโt ready to tell anyone about the Southern Suburb project yet.
โI think I did pretty well. Donโt you think so, Mr. Tyler?โ Freya handed him her work nonchalantly.
Preston glanced over it briefly and commented, โItโs an improvement, but not much.โ
Freya wasnโt sure if that was a compliment.
โWhy does my hand feel so sore today, unlike yesterday?โ
โThatโs because youโre not used to working hard. Itโs normal for your wrist to ache from handwriting if youโve never done it before,โ Preston said, his tone indifferent.
Freya rolled her eyes inwardly. His comment was as helpful as saying nothing.
โStill, to reach this level in just two days is impressive. The exam shouldnโt be too difficult for you. You donโt need to come here so often anymore.โ
Preston casually placed the paper on the table.
Freya was secretly thrilled. She had much to handle with the Southern Suburb project and needed to stay in touch with Ronan; Prestonโs constant supervision made that difficult.
โYou seem quite pleased.โ
