Chapter 335

“Just some playful banter from Jenny. No need for Ms. Dawson to take it to heart, right?”

Eloise wasn’t finding the humor in it anymore. Her defense of Jenny was clear to anyone. When Freya accused them of fabricating stories and setting traps, it aimed directly at Eloise.

“Jokes or not, Jenny has said it, and such talk isn’t great for the principal’s reputation. Let’s hope today’s incident was only a misunderstanding. But if it were intentional bullying, I’m afraid someone might follow Mae’s unfortunate path. With graduation exams around the corner, this won’t look good for the principal or Summit University, right, Principal?”

Freya’s message was clear. They had to back down, or Jenny could end up behind bars.

With no choice, Eloise turned to the principal and said, “Principal, with graduation exams nearly upon us, I believe it’s time to resolve conflicts. Consider this water under the bridge, as if we were never here. I’ll ensure Jenny apologizes to Ms. Dawson.”

This was an indirect admission from Eloise that Jenny had targeted Freya.

Jenny bit her lip, frustration written all over her face. It was Eloise who had coerced her into this scheme against Freya. With their plan backfiring, Jenny was the one left holding the bag. Jenny felt an unprecedented level of frustration.

Luckily, the principal didn’t want to blow the situation out of proportion and was on board with Eloise. “You’ve got true leadership, always looking out for the whole group. I’ve got other fish to fry. I’ll leave this mess in your capable hands.”

With that, the principal took the opportunity to exit the office.

As everyone prepared to leave, Eloise and Freya exchanged glances. In Freya’s memories, Eloise had never treated her as an enemy. Perhaps, in Eloise’s eyes, she wasn’t a threat. But then, Eloise’s gaze filled with hatred. Could it be that the wheels of fate were beginning to turn?

“Jenny…”

As they exited the principal’s office, Jenny shrugged off Eloise’s comforting hand.

“You suggested we use this method against Freya, and now you’re abandoning me! How come you get to play the good guy? The principal knows I intentionally targeted Freya, tarnishing his reputation. Who knows what he’ll do to me during the graduation exam?” Jenny stormed off, not caring about Eloise’s reputation before the student council members.

Eloise’s face darkened. In the school, Eloise was the idol of all the boys. To the girls, she was the kind, older-sister figure. This was the time she had been embarrassed before everyone—all thanks to Freya! In private, Eloise clenched her fists, trying to contain her frustration.

Out of the school building, Freya saw a tall, handsome figure despite his white windbreaker and baseball cap. From his aura alone, Freya instantly recognized him. That was Caleb, Eloise’s devoted childhood friend, the unassuming movie star who always stood by her side.

“Great…why is Caleb here now?” Freya recalled that, in her past life, Caleb wasn’t supposed to be in town at this time.
