Chapter 370

Listening to the chorus of agreement around her, Kara almost believed it herself. She totally forgot about her real-life situation, like she was really about to become Kieranโ€™s fiancรฉe soon. But then Kara remembered how Kieran had disregarded Eloiseโ€™s feelings for Freya, sending waves of anxiety through her once more.

Could it beโ€ฆ Kieran had truly fallen for Freya? No, if it were Eloise, she wouldnโ€™t have said a word. But why Freya? Freya was just a fallen Ms. Dawson, someone whose family was barely holding on, not much better off than her, a country bumpkin whoโ€™d come from nowhere. Freya could usurp Eloiseโ€™s place and steal Kieran away; then she could just as easily snatch the title of Mrs. Sutton from Freya.

The next morning, Freya got up at the crack of dawn to head to Summit University. Today was exam day, and most students had arrived early. As soon as Freya stepped into the exam hall, she felt every gaze land on her. Those looks were filled with contempt, scrutiny, and disdain. Who didnโ€™t know that Freya had gotten a backdoor entry into a private exam hall thanks to Mr. Sutton? Even though the results didnโ€™t come out right away, everyone was convinced Freya mustโ€™ve cheated. Freya walked in under their collective gaze.

Eloise was sitting in the back row, surrounded by members of the student council whispering about Freyaโ€™s misdeeds.

โ€œShe thinks sheโ€™s something special? All because of Mr. Suttonโ€™s influence?โ€

โ€œAnd who knows what sly tricks she used. I despise cheaters the most!โ€

The person who said this wasnโ€™t aware that their words had struck Eloise deeply. Eloiseโ€™s face darkened. Seeing Eloise with that gloomy look, they figured it was because she didnโ€™t crush it on yesterdayโ€™s exam. Eloise had been in a foul mood since then.

โ€œEllie, with your grades, you could totally crush her. If this final exam is so tough and you donโ€™t do well, but she does, then weโ€™ll report her!โ€

โ€œRight, weโ€™re graduating anyway; weโ€™re not afraid of her! Why should she blatantly cheat? Such people donโ€™t deserve to graduate!โ€ When everyone thought Eloise would agree, she suddenly said, โ€œEnough.โ€ At that, the few around her dared not speak further.

โ€œEllieโ€ฆ whatโ€™s wrong?โ€ One of them asked tentatively.

Eloise coldly replied, โ€œI just want to focus on my exam. I couldnโ€™t care less about anything else.โ€ Yesterday, Kieran had exposed her cheating scheme. And today, the principal had a talk with her, making it clear that she would be closely watched during the exam, all because of Kieran. Especially since todayโ€™s paper had been urgently revised, even if she had the previous answers, it wouldnโ€™t help. Her concern now was whether she could graduate at all, not whether Freya could.

At that moment, the invigilator walked in and addressed the students, โ€œYesterday, someone cheated. I wonโ€™t name names. But if anyone cheats today, Iโ€™ll catch them red-handed, and they can forget about graduating this year.โ€ When the invigilator finished, everyoneโ€™s gaze shifted to Freya as if she was the culprit. Suddenly, everyone looked at Freya as if she was their enemy.

โ€œPapers will be distributed now, and the exam starts in five minutes. Be careful.โ€ The invigilatorโ€™s tone was stern. This time, following Kieranโ€™s order, no special accommodation was provided for Freya.
