Freya had known all along that Eloise thought she was bluffing, banking on her own popularity to sway public opinion against her. But this time, Eloise had miscalculated. Freya actually had proof.

The courtyard buzzed with students, their curiosity piqued about what evidence Freya claimed to hold in her hands. Then, as everyone watched, Freya suddenly whipped out a USB drive, causing a buzz among the onlookers.

“A USB drive? What’s she going to do with that?”

“How is a USB drive supposed to be evidence? Is she joking?”

Eloise scoffed, “I don’t get it. What’s that supposed to prove? That I hid cheats on it and used a computer to cheat during the exam?”

“Of course not,” Freya retorted. “This USB contains footage from a camera I discreetly placed outside the invigilator’s office. It clearly shows members of the student council breaking school rules, tampering with exam papers.”

“Eloise, you’re freaking out. Which school rule says I can’t put a camera outside the invigilator’s office? Drawing a blank? Why so nervous?”

The crowd sensed Eloise’s panic. If she was innocent, why react so strongly? The whispers grew louder as more people gathered, some even recording, eager to post the drama online.

“I’m just shocked at your actions, Freya. For a mere final exam, to go to the lengths of setting up a camera outside the office? Aren’t there enough cameras in the hallways? Ms. Dawson, you really do play it safe,” Eloise managed, though her voice betrayed her distress. She wasn’t sure how much Freya had caught on camera. If it was only footage of them going in and out of the office, maybe they could talk their way out of it. But if Freya had been daring enough to put a camera inside the office, they were toast.

“This final exam? Downplay it all you want, but both my exams scored zero. How’s that possible, even if I guessed on a multiple-choice question? I was merely curious if someone had tampered with my paper, hence the drastic measure. And look, it revealed something quite interesting.”

Raising her voice for effect, Freya announced, “The student council president and members sneaking into the invigilator’s office to alter exam papers, destroying others’ work. This isn’t something a mere expulsion can fix.”

Seeing Eloise’s dismay, Freya smirked and said, “I’m off to the principal’s office to share my findings.”

As Freya turned to leave, Eloise instinctively blocked her way. “You can’t go!”

The surrounding crowd buzzed with speculation.

“Could it be true, like the rumors said? Eloise cheated?”

“But her grades were so good, why would she need to cheat?”

“Her grades dropped recently, and she lost her study abroad spot. Suddenly scoring high again does seem fishy.”

“The student council has been too powerful for too long. If they’re capable of this, they need to be severely punished.”
