Chapter 399

That afternoon, the verdict on Eloiseโ€™s academic fate took another devastating turn. This time, Eloise would not be able to graduate; she was expelled from the university. Several staff members suspected of covering up for her were stripped of their positions.

When Jarrett relayed the news to Kieran, the decision was already final. Given the scandalโ€™s magnitude, the education board took the matter extremely seriously. Even Kieran, with all his influence, couldnโ€™t sway the outcome this time. Considering the implications, there was no way Eloise could smoothly graduate.

โ€œMr. Sutton, Ms. Harwood is here at the office. Sheโ€™s been waiting downstairs, insisting on seeing you. Should I send her up?โ€

Jarrett had never seen Ms. Harwood treated with such disregard before.

โ€œNo.โ€ Kieranโ€™s response was icy. He felt he had done all he could for Eloise under the circumstances.

โ€œBut if we donโ€™t see her, Ms. Harwood might cause a scene downstairs.โ€

โ€œHave security escort her out.โ€

At Kieranโ€™s order, Jarrett was visibly taken aback. Even in the face of previous crises, Mr. Sutton had never issued such a command.

โ€œDid you not understand me? Or do you need me to repeat myself?โ€

โ€œOf course not!โ€ Jarrett quickly left the office.

Downstairs, Eloise had rushed to The Sutton Group, thinking Jarrettโ€™s arrival meant she was being invited up. Instead, she received a dismissal: โ€œMs. Harwood, Mr. Sutton is tied up in meetings. Perhaps you should head back.โ€

โ€œKieran doesnโ€™t want to see me, is that it?โ€ Eloiseโ€™s face paled as she spoke. โ€œJarrett, please, could you talk to Kieran again? I really need to see him!โ€

โ€œIf itโ€™s about the graduation issue, Ms. Harwood, thereโ€™s no need. Mr. Sutton has said thereโ€™s nothing he can do.โ€

Kieran had tried everything, but the harsh reality remained unchanged. Eloise refused to believe Kieran was out of options. She declared, โ€œJarrett, tell Kieran if he doesnโ€™t see me today, Iโ€™ll wait here for him. If he doesnโ€™t come out, Iโ€™ll wait here till I pass out.โ€

Seeing Eloiseโ€™s determination, Jarrett sighed in frustration but eventually turned to the security guard, saying, โ€œSecurity, please escort Ms. Harwood out.โ€

โ€œJarrett! Have you lost your mind? Youโ€™re actually kicking me out?โ€ Eloise was in disbelief as she looked at Jarrett.

Jarrett felt helpless, responding, โ€œMs. Harwood, this is Mr. Suttonโ€™s directive. I have no other choice.โ€

โ€œJarrett, let go of me! Let go!โ€ No matter how much Eloise protested, the security guards didnโ€™t relent.

As Eloise was being escorted out, whispers spread among the companyโ€™s staff.

โ€œMs. Harwood is being dragged out? Thatโ€™s a first.โ€

โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear? Ms. Harwood has fallen out of favor.โ€

โ€œWhat? I thought Mr. Sutton was head over heels for her?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re out of the loop. Havenโ€™t you seen the posts on Summit Universityโ€™s forum? Mr. Sutton never had feelings for her. The only reason he looked after her was because of her boyfriend, that late Naylor!โ€
