When the thought crossed Johanna’s mind, her heart skipped a beat. “It’s true! The company has been handed over to Freya!” While speaking, Johanna pulled out the contract from her purse, declaring, “We’ve signed the contract. This company has been under Freya’s management for days now!”

In a rush, Johanna dumped everything from her bag onto the table, and sure enough, there was the contract she had signed with Freya. They had two copies made at the time; Freya kept one, and the other was in her possession. Seeing the contract in Johanna’s hands confirmed its authenticity, and the room was filled with exchanged glances of disbelief.

“We’re doomed… The Dawson Group is truly doomed!” someone whispered the ominous words.

Just then, the conference room door swung open, and Freya walked in, her presence commanding silence. Seeing Freya, everyone was momentarily stunned.

Grasping at straws, Johanna immediately rushed to Freya, pleading, “Freya! Thank goodness you’re here! Please tell everyone that you’re the one running the company!”

Freya couldn’t help but smile at Johanna’s desperate attempt to shift the blame, saying, “Johanna, I’m right here, aren’t I?”

“Ms. Dawson, what on earth is going on?”

“Yeah, how did the company end up in your hands?”

Several people were openly skeptical of Freya. After all, Freya was previously known only as Kieran’s shadow, never having involved herself in the company’s affairs.

At that moment, Freya’s lawyer entered the room. Freya took her place at the head of the conference table and began, “This company was left to me by my father. It’s my inheritance. Lawyer Chandler, please go ahead and explain.”

“Of course.” Chandler stepped forward, presenting a document, declaring, “This is the will left by Mr. Gavin Dawson, stating that the company will be inherited by his daughter, Miss Freya Dawson.”

“What?”

“How is this possible?”

The shareholders were in disbelief, having never heard any mention of Freya inheriting the family business. Could it be that the inheritance wasn’t meant for Leland?

Johanna remained silent on the sidelines, not daring to utter a word. After all, whoever took on the role of inheritor would face a nightmare with the Dawson Group’s predicament!

“It seems there are no objections to my father’s will,” Freya concluded, turning to Johanna, “Johanna, you don’t have any objections, do you?”

“None at all! Absolutely none!” Johanna waved her hands frantically, eager to wash her hands of the whole affair.

“With that settled, I will address all the company’s current issues myself.”

“Ms. Dawson, how can you make such claims? How are you going to solve them? Do you think this is some small million-dollar problem?”

“Yeah, we’re talking about losses in the billions! How can you resolve this so easily?”

“Ms. Dawson, I know you’re a wealthy heiress who’s never wanted for anything, but the company’s problems aren’t something you can charm your way out of with Mr. Sutton by batting your eyelashes and sweet-talking!”

“I think, Ms. Dawson, it might be best for you to step down now or consider selling the company. It might at least cover the debts!”
