The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 401-405
Chapter 401
The Glorious Club boasted fifteen floors. Except for the lobby on the first floor, the remaining fourteen served as entertainment venues. Floors two through ten contained numerous exclusive rooms of varying sizes and designs. Even the private spaces for regular members were exceptionally glamorous, as were those reserved for VIP Gold members. These personal spaces were fit for a king!
The eleventh through fourteenth floors housed a pool, a sky garden, and fitness and entertainment centers for members' use. The fifteenth floor was the most elegant of all.
Upon arriving on the fifteenth floor and stepping from the elevator, Charlie Wade immediately noticed the opulent surroundings. The décor and style were breathtaking; every detail exuded luxury and sophistication. The Feng Shui and layout were impeccable.
As Jasmine walked beside Charlie Wade, she continued her presentation. "Mr. Wade, this is the club's most lavish floor. It features a semi-outdoor infinity pool, a presidential suite, and a private dining room. If you wish to hear music, we can arrange a small performance. If there are any vocalists you prefer, I can have them perform here on the fifteenth floor."
She added, "One of our members has become quite popular recently, even considered one of the top artists in the entertainment industry. The Moore family happens to be one of their sponsors."
Charlie Wade smiled faintly, waved his hand, and said, "Forget it. I'm not interested in the entertainment industry."
Jasmine replied, "Yes, the entertainment industry can be quite unpleasant and challenging. If you prefer other top vocalists, I can invite them here to sing for you."
Charlie Wade smiled. "Okay, I'll let you know if I have a request."
Jasmine smiled. "Mr. Wade, please don't be so polite. Feel free to let me know any requests you may have." A slight blush colored her cheeks. She was the proud and glamorous daughter of the Moore family, rarely feeling so humbled before a man. In truth, she always cherished her grandfather's advice: find a way to make Charlie Wade the Moore family's son-in-law. She had long been in love with Charlie Wade—a man who possessed strength, capability, and humility. Her words expressed not only gratitude but also a subtle declaration of her love.
Charlie Wade, however, missed the subtext, simply thanking her graciously. He then remarked, "At a glance, this club's Feng Shui is excellent." He added lightly, "Jasmine, why don't you rest, and I'll take a look around the club myself?"
Jasmine replied promptly, "I'll accompany you!"
Charlie Wade smiled. "There's no need. I need tranquility and focus when assessing Feng Shui. It's better if I go alone. You can wait here."
Jasmine didn't insist, simply saying, "Mr. Wade, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to call"
Charlie Wade nodded and headed for the elevator, descending to the first floor, inspecting the Feng Shui of each level before arriving at the second floor. He found the décor lavish, evidence of considerable effort by the designers. However, he found the second floor's Feng Shui only adequate.
Chapter 402
The Glorious Club's Feng Shui was impressive to a degree, but Charlie Wade found nothing remarkable about it. An average person might consider the Feng Shui excellent, but to Charlie Wade, the second floor's Feng Shui was like plain water—neither beneficial nor harmful, simply bland.
Having promised Jasmine, Charlie Wade didn't mind improving the Glorious Club's Feng Shui. He mentally reviewed the Feng Shui techniques he'd studied in the Apocalyptic Book, devising improvements.
Suddenly, a woman's voice cut through the air. "Charlie Wade, you piece of garbage! What are you doing here?"
Charlie Wade frowned and turned. Wendy and a man in a white Zegna suit approached. The man was Jeffrey Weaver, eldest son of the Weaver family. Smitten with Wendy after Kenneth had essentially given her to him, Jeffrey promised to care for her. Wendy, initially reluctant to be treated as a plaything, had become his lover, seeing his genuine care and the Weaver family's billion-dollar assets—significantly more than the Wilsons. Becoming Jeffrey's lover restored Wendy's pride and arrogance.
Attending the Glorious Club's opening, Jeffrey had spent five million dollars on a Silver membership for Wendy. Overwhelmed by the luxury, Wendy felt like an upper-class socialite. Then she spotted Charlie Wade. It was like seeing a fly at a lavish feast. Utterly unacceptable. She wanted to eliminate this "fly."
Jeffrey, noticing Wendy's animosity toward the casually dressed young man, put an arm around her waist. "Wendy, is this the smelly son-in-law you mentioned, Charlie Wade of the Wilson family?"
Wendy gritted her teeth. "This man has been a notorious wastrel since college!"
Having spent time with Wendy, Jeffrey knew her family history and her contempt for Charlie Wade. Wishing to please her, he sneered at Charlie Wade. "Boy, is this a place you can just come and go as you please?"
Charlie Wade responded coolly, "And why not, if I wish to?"
Jeffrey smiled. "Because you're not worthy!"
Chapter 403
Charlie Wade chuckled, unfazed. "Tell me, why do I not belong here?"
Jeffrey scoffed. "Do I need to explain? Look at your clothes—you look worse than the valet parkers!"
Charlie Wade laughed. "My clothing is my choice. Does the Glorious Club have a mandatory dress code?"
Jeffrey sneered. "You can wear whatever you want, but this is a members-only club!" He looked at Charlie Wade disdainfully.
Charlie Wade shook his head. "No," he replied to Jeffrey's question about being a Silver member. Nor was he a Gold member.
A contemptuous sneer. "Don't tell me you're a VIP member!"
Charlie Wade spread his hands. "No."
Jeffrey laughed. "Hahaha! You pathetic moocher! Are you a VIP member? As far as I know, less than ten people have VIP memberships in Aurouss Hill."
Charlie Wade smiled. "Nope. Try again."
Jeffrey frowned. "What the f*ck are you then? Did you sneak in for a free meal?"
Wendy chimed in sarcastically. "Of course he did! A loser kicked out of our family—how could he be a member? He sneaked in like the worthless loser he is!" She glared at Charlie Wade. "Charlie Wade, you've come to the wrong place! This is the Moore family's new premium Glorious Club, and today is the soft launch."
Charlie Wade maintained an innocent expression. "I'm a member. Why would security stop me?"
Jeffrey sneered. "You're none of the four tiers—how dare you claim to be a member? There are only four membership tiers! You're good at making things up! All Access Supreme VIP my ass! Aren't you afraid of angering the Moore family?"
Charlie Wade shook his head. "I'm telling you the truth. Why don't you believe me?"
Jeffrey laughed. "I'm Jeffrey Weaver!"
Charlie Wade asked, "Are you famous? I've never heard of you."
Jeffrey sneered. "Weaver Pharmaceuticals. Heard of it? I'm the general manager."
Charlie Wade shook his head. "Sorry, I haven't."
Jeffrey's face darkened, believing Charlie Wade was taunting him. He produced his membership card. "See for yourself. It says 'All Access Supreme VIP,' doesn't it?"
Chapter 404
Jeffrey took the card, frowning immediately. The card's craftsmanship was superior to his own Timeless membership card. He'd never heard of a Supreme Member level. There were only four tiers! He concluded Charlie Wade had forged the card—audacious! He threatened to call Uncle Oscar, the Moore family butler.
Jeffrey's father had a casual acquaintance with Oscar, who had earned the Moore family's trust over years of service. Except for the Moore family's immediate members, Oscar held the greatest influence and prestige. His standing surpassed even Don Albertt Rhodes.
Charlie Wade, upon hearing Jeffrey mention Oscar, laughed. "Oh, I forgot to mention Miss Jasmine Moore gave me this Supreme VIP card herself. It's Miss Moore!"
Jeffrey scoffed. "Miss Moore gave it to you? Do you think you can brag with impunity? Boasting can be dangerous!"
Charlie Wade asked, "Why? Is it harmful?"
Jeffrey huffed. "Do you think this is funny? You're insulting Miss Moore! You'll be dead if she finds out!"
Charlie Wade chuckled. "I think you're insulting Miss Moore."
Wendy urged Jeffrey to call Oscar to teach Charlie Wade a lesson. She suspected Charlie Wade was involved in Kenneth's impotence.
Jeffrey patted Wendy's hand. "Don't worry, my dear. I'll call security!" He yelled for guards, claiming someone was falsely claiming membership and insulting Miss Moore.
A deep voice boomed. "Who's making all that noise?"
Chapter 405
Jeffrey smirked. "Uncle Oscar's here. You're dead, loser!" He pointed at Charlie Wade. "Uncle Oscar, this loser is falsely claiming membership and insulting Miss Moore."
Oscar, unable to clearly see from a distance, couldn't recognize Charlie Wade, but trusted Jeffrey. "Guards, take him down!"
Wendy gloated. Charlie Wade smiled. "Don't worry, you'll go before me."
Charlie Wade turned to Oscar. "Oscar Watts, you addlepated twit, you're quite brave, aren't you? Do you want to take me down?"
Everyone was stunned. Oscar, however, trembled at the sound of the voice. He recognized it as Master Wade, highly regarded by Lord Moore. He bowed profusely. "Master Wade, I'm so sorry"
Everyone froze. Why was Oscar apologizing to Charlie Wade?
Charlie Wade said coldly, "I heard you're highly regarded in the Moore family, but not above Lord Moore, correct?" He didn't intend to spare Oscar, regardless of innocence. Jeffrey would become Oscar's target if Oscar was angered by Charlie Wade. Oscar instantly understood his predicament when Lord Moore was mentioned.
