Listen to this chapter:

Sabrina plastered on a coy smile and said to Charlie Wade in a sweet voice, “Class rep, welcome to Paradise. It’s an honor to have you visit, and a pleasure to see you again, my former university classmate. …”

She hoped her compliments and gentle tone would make Charlie Wade forget her previous rudeness. She hadn't realized how unkind he truly was.

Isaac gaped in shock. “Lee, you’re Mr. Wade’s college friend?”

“Yes, yes!” Sabrina said frantically. “Mr. Wade was my course representative in college; we’re quite close!”

Isaac immediately announced, “Report to the president’s office tomorrow. You’ll be Paradise’s Human Resources manager!”

In Shangri-La, the promotion from team leader to HR manager was a significant jump. Sabrina was so overjoyed she nearly fainted.

Charlie Wade said coldly, “Mr. Cameron, do you know what kind of relationship I have with Sabrina Lee?”

Isaac, sensing Charlie Wade’s displeasure, immediately offered, “Mr. Wade, I can promote Miss Lee to vice president if you wish!”

Charlie Wade retorted, “I asked Sabrina Lee for help because I didn’t have my membership card, but out of nowhere, she insulted me for no reason and even encouraged the guards to beat me. Now you want to promote her to vice president? What do you mean by that? Are you trying to deliberately anger me?”

Isaac felt his blood run cold. His gaze toward Sabrina was filled with fury. He swung his hand across her face and roared, “How dare you annoy Mr. Wade?”

Sabrina, terrified, cowered on the ground, trembling and sobbing, “Mr. Cameron, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Isaac kicked her violently, sending her sprawling, and yelled, “You stupid bitch! I’ll teach you a lesson about the price of angering Mr. Wade!”

He then turned to the security guards and shouted, “Give her a good beating! Don’t be merciful. Ruin that plastic face of hers and send a message to all of Aurouss Hill: anyone who dares hire her is defying me, Cameron Isaac!”

Sabrina, terrified, begged, “Mr. Cameron, I’m sorry, please forgive me.”

Isaac’s face was red with rage. “Now you’re sorry? What were you thinking? How dare you provoke Mr. Wade? If it weren’t for him, I’d kill you now!”

Kneeling, she crawled to Charlie Wade and bowed deeply. “Mr. Wade, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry!”

Charlie Wade looked at her coldly. “Sabrina Lee, we’re classmates, but why did you disrespect me and my wife?”

“Class representative, I was out of my mind. It was my foul mouth; please forgive me…”

Charlie Wade sighed in disgust.

Isaac roared, “Bitch! Don’t you dare bother Mr. Wade again, or I’ll tear your mouth off your face!”

Sabrina didn’t dare speak another word. She remained on the floor, weeping bitterly. Charlie Wade ignored her completely. He turned to Isaac and said firmly, “I want to talk to you about the Sky Garden. Let’s go to your office.”

Isaac responded eagerly, “Of course, Mr. Wade, this way, please!”

Before leaving, he turned to the guards and yelled, “Teach her a lesson and don’t stop until I say so!”

“Yes, Mr. Cameron!” The guards nodded fearfully. They rushed toward Sabrina, threw her to the ground, and beat her severely. Sabrina sobbed and screamed behind Charlie Wade, but he paid her no attention. Isaac accompanied him into Dreamland.

In Isaac’s office, Charlie Wade got straight to the point. “My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary in a few days. I want to reserve the entire Sky Garden. May I?”

Isaac replied readily, “Young Master, for fairness to all premium members, we don’t allow full charters of the Sky Garden, not even for prominent politicians. The Sky Garden will be reserved for you and only you in the future!”

Charlie Wade said flatly, “That’s not necessary; I just need it for my anniversary. Also, I need your help to plan a surprise for my wife.”

“No problem! Rest assured, all of Shangri-La’s staff and I will always follow your orders and requests!”

After settling the Shangri-La matters, Charlie Wade boarded a bus home. He noticed almost every passenger was watching videos on their phones. To his surprise, everyone was watching the same video! It was the video of him flaunting thirteen million dollars in cash at Emerald Court a few days ago!

The video started with Stephen and the security guards exiting black Rolls-Royces. It showed the guards carrying numerous black suitcases into Emerald Court and dumping them on the floor, humiliating the arrogant sales manager. The entire event had been filmed and uploaded online, though Charlie Wade’s face was blurred.

The video spread through Aurouss Hill like wildfire. The city buzzed with speculation about the ultra-rich man behind it all. Many women fantasized about their own rags-to-riches stories, hoping to meet their Prince Charming.

Charlie Wade breathed a sigh of relief; his face was too blurry to be identified. Claire Wilson had won the Emgrand Group contract and was about to be appointed director of Wilson Group.

After years of ridicule, they could finally bask in the spotlight. His in-laws’ attitude had dramatically improved; they no longer found him contemptible.

Elaine Ma said happily, “Hah, I’m so happy today! My daughter is amazing!”

She turned to Charlie Wade and said, surprisingly, “Charlie Wade, despite your uselessness, I’ll give credit where credit’s due. Claire Wilson succeeded thanks to your inspiration, so you don’t have to cook dinner tonight. We’ll go out to celebrate!”

Claire Wilson laughed. “Let’s go to Kempinski.”

“It’s too expensive!” Elaine Ma exclaimed. “It’s at least a thousand dollars a head, isn’t it?”

Claire Wilson giggled. “Mother, a director’s salary is very high; it’s a million dollars a year.”

“Wow!” Elaine Ma clapped. “That’s amazing! My dear Claire has finally achieved something significant!”

After a brief pause, she continued, “But you’ll need to give me 70% of your salary. You young people don’t know how to manage money; give me the cash, and I’ll manage it for you. I’m sure it’ll be safer than you keeping it yourselves!”

Claire Wilson replied, “Mother! Don’t taunt Charlie Wade again; he’s your son-in-law, for goodness sake!”

“Okay, okay! For your sake, I promise I won’t nag him as much!”
