Chapter 886

Seeing them leave, Claire Wilson closed the door and said to Charlie Wade, "The feelings between Aunt Matilda and Dad are too obvious. You don't think Dad would cheat, do you?"

Charlie Wade replied seriously, "I don't think Aunt Matilda is that kind of person. She's very principled. Even if she has feelings for Dad, she'd wait for a divorce."

Claire Wilson angrily retorted, "What are you talking about? How could Dad divorce Mom?"

Charlie Wade, knowing Claire wouldn't accept this, avoided the topic. Checking the time, he said, "Honey, rest at home. Don't go looking for Mom. I'll ask a friend for help."

Claire Wilson nodded. "Should I go with you?"

Charlie Wade quickly said, "No need. I'll take a taxi. You've been worried for two days; go rest."

Claire Wilson sighed. "Okay. Let me know if you have any news."

Charlie Wade agreed, opening the door. "Okay, I'll go now."

Leaving the villa, he encountered Jacob Wilson, who had just seen Matilda and her son off.

Jacob Wilson asked, "Charlie, it's late. Where are you going?"

Charlie Wade nodded. "I'm asking friends for clues about Mom."

Jacob Wilson, nervous, grabbed him. "Who? Don Albert? Miss Moore?"

Charlie Wade said, "I'll ask them. They have connections."

Jacob Wilson clutched his chest. "Son-in-law, must we be so anxious? It's only been a day since Dad's new relationship began. Are you going to ruin it?"

Charlie Wade understood Jacob's reluctance, his recent reunion with his first love. However, he prioritized Claire's happiness.

He said helplessly, "Dad, Claire hasn't been well. Finding Mom quickly is important."

Jacob Wilson's expression was grim. "Son-in-law, she's an adult. She should be more patient. Please, let her wait"

Charlie Wade smiled slightly. "Dad, even with help, finding Mom might take time."

Jacob Wilson blurted out, "How can I not be in a hurry? Don Albert and Miss Moore are influential people in Aurous Hill. Finding someone shouldn't be difficult. Maybe Mom will be back tonight!"

Charlie Wade looked at Jacob's distress. "Dad, we can't force it. It's better to hope for a quick return than to hope she returns at all, or even never returns. After Mom comes back, you can tell her and formally divorce."

Chapter 887

Charlie Wade's words jolted Jacob Wilson. He realized facing the problem was the solution. To be with Matilda, he needed to divorce Elaine Ma.

He felt better. "Okay, I'll arrange the divorce. When Mom returns, I'll ask for a divorce."

Charlie Wade took a taxi to the Shangri-La Hotel, where Cameron Isaac awaited him. The hotel manager led him to Isaac's office.

Cameron Isaac immediately said, "Master, I apologize for your visit. I should have visited you."

Charlie Wade waved his hand. "It's easier this way. My mother-in-law, who stole over 20 billion, how is she in detention?"

"Miserable," Cameron Isaac said. "She's a public enemy in the cell. I heard she hasn't eaten."

Charlie Wade nodded. "She's responsible."

Cameron Isaac said, "Master, I didn't expect her to transfer that much money without fear. She's incredibly bold!"

Charlie Wade smiled. "My mother-in-law loves money. She was a third party in my wife's first love because the wife was wealthy. She chased money all her life, never got it, and it twisted her."

Cameron Isaac suggested, "Master, perhaps a longer detention would teach her a lesson. She's only been there two days. Should we release her?"

Charlie Wade nodded. "For my wife. But if she's not honest afterward, I have other ways."

He continued, "Tomorrow morning, arrange police interrogation as discussed. Find all the actors and props for a big show."

Cameron Isaac said, "Master, don't worry, it'll be ready."

Charlie Wade said, "I'm here to confirm. Don't make mistakes."

Chapter 888

After finalizing the arrangements, Charlie Wade took a taxi home. Meanwhile, Elaine Ma's nightmare continued. She was tortured, beaten, and drenched with cold water. Without food for two days, she collapsed, suffering from a bad cold and high fever.

Despite her fever, she couldn't lie down, shivering in the corner. She murmured, "Please, have mercy, give me a blanket, I'm so cold"

Lady Wilson sneered. "You want a blanket? You'll sleep in the toilet tonight!"

Wendy echoed, "Grandma, a cold bath!"

Elaine Ma cried, pleading, "Please, I'll die! Have mercy!"

Lady Wilson said viciously, "I wish you would die now!"

Elaine Ma wailed, "Mom, it's just mother-in-law/daughter-in-law issues. Why are you trying to kill me? Even if youโ€™re angry that I won't let you live in the villa"

She looked at Gena, begging, "Sister Gena, I know you hate your daughter-in-law, butI've never hit or really scolded Lady Wilson. But she's been relentless these past two days, trying to kill me! As a sensible person, can't you see who's the wicked one? If I were as bad as her, could she still be so healthy? She's the real evil one!"

Lady Wilson angrily slapped Elaine Ma and slammed her head against the wall, swearing.

Chapter 889

Gena realized Elaine Ma had a point. Lady Wilson, though accusing Elaine Ma of unfilial piety, seemed perfectly healthy and strong.

Gena intervened, "Lady Wilson, enough. You won't kill her, will you?"

Elaine Ma breathed a sigh of relief. Gena's support gave Lady Wilson power.

Elaine Ma continued crying, "Sister Gena, you're sensible. She wants to kill me! If you donโ€™t stop her I might really be tortured to death!"

Lady Wilson impatiently said, "Gena, don't believe her lies!"

Gena said, "I don't know what's true, but I'm not blind. It's enough. You haven't suffered injuries, why torture her?"

Lady Wilson felt she'd gone too far. Losing Gena's support would be disastrous.

She began to cry, pointing at Elaine Ma, "Gena, don't be fooled! You don't know what she did!"

She recounted how Elaine Ma had slept with her son while he was drunk, breaking up his relationship with his first love, who happened to be Elaine Ma's roommate and best friend.

Chapter 890

The women in the cell were stunned by Lady Wilson's revelation. Their pity for Elaine Ma evaporated, replaced by hatred.

They joined in the verbal and physical assault on Elaine Ma.

Lady Wilson watched coldly, thinking, "Elaine Ma, you dare to fight with me? You're asking for death!"

Lady Wilson further amplified Elaine Ma's act of betrayal towards her first love, who she claimed has never returned to China. The hatred toward Elaine Ma is maximized.

Elaine Ma was terrified, watching as her hopes vanished, and her fate spiraled into a violent beating by the other inmates. Lady Wilson watched with cold satisfaction.
