The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1161-1165
Chapter 1161
Cameron, Isaac, and Liam stared, speechless and shocked, at Charlie Wade, bathed in golden sunlight. He had completely shattered their previous impressions. To them, he seemed godlike, having single-handedly slain the Eight Heavenly Kings. He hadn't even been injured; he'd summoned thunder, triggering an avalanche that buried them. Remarkably, he emerged unscathed.
As Wade approached, Liam knelt in the snow, bowing his head. "Master Wade," he proclaimed, "I pledge my lifelong loyalty!" Don Albertt followed suit, declaring his respect. A trembling Cameron Isaac knelt, hands on the ground, exclaiming, "Master! You are the only god in my heart!"
Wade smiled faintly. "I remain Charlie Wade, your son-in-law. Your opinions are your own; however, keep today's events secret." The three kowtowed repeatedly.
Wade addressed Cameron Isaac seriously: "Especially you—tell no one in the Wade family about this!"
Startled, Isaac blurted, "Master, don't worry! If the Wade family asks, I'll say they died in an avalanche!"
Wade nodded. "Good. The avalanche blocked the only road into the village. Use the Wade family's resources to repair it quickly. Until then, send a helicopter with supplies to the villagers—don't disrupt their lives."
"Yes, Master!" Cameron Isaac immediately began making arrangements.
Wade checked the time. "It's almost seven. My wife will be worried. Get me back! I need to make her breakfast."
Everyone was stunned. Was this the same man who'd just defeated the Eight Heavenly Kings? He’d summoned thunder and caused an avalanche, yet now fretted over breakfast?
Cameron Isaac reacted first. "Master, I'll take us to the airport by helicopter. We'll be back in Aurouss Hill in under three hours!"
"Good," Wade replied. "Hurry."
A helicopter swiftly departed Golim Mountain, heading toward the airport. Meanwhile, local media reported the avalanche. While media and locals investigated, the Wade family's disaster relief helicopter delivered supplies to the villages.
Chapter 1162
At the Webb family estate in the southern region, Elder Webb, bedridden, anxiously awaited news of the Eight Heavenly Kings. He'd slept little, due to both discomfort and unease. Donald had contacted them before dawn; Duran reported they were nearing their destination.
The Webbs expected the Eight Heavenly Kings to act swiftly. After an hour, Elder Webb believed their task completed. "Donald," he instructed, "call Mr. Duran and ask for an update."
Donald called, but received no answer. "Dad," he reported, "No answer. Maybe they're busy?"
Webb nodded. "Possible. Let's wait."
Ten minutes later, Webb again urged a call. Again, no answer. He frowned. "Something's wrong. Their strength… it shouldn't take this long. Duran, in a single incense stick's time, could eliminate two dozen opponents. This is beyond belief."
Donald offered, "Dad, don't worry. Golim Mountain is remote, cold, and isolated. There could be delays."
Webb nodded. "Let's wait longer."
Ten minutes later, he repeated the instruction. Still no answer. His anxiety grew. He tried contacting other members of the Eight Heavenly Kings, but got no response—the phones connected, but no one answered.
The Webb family felt a chill. The disappearance of the Eight Heavenly Kings seemed impossible. Even facing strong opposition, surely some would escape. After all, one of the sixteen sent to Golim Mountain had escaped. Those were ordinary bodyguards, not martial arts masters.
Webb's breathing quickened. He gripped Donald's hand, his face pale. "Something's wrong," he whispered.
Donald tried to reassure him. "Dad, don't worry. Wait a little longer!"
Webb insisted, "Duran's never been in this situation. I suspect an accident!"
Chapter 1163
By the time Charlie Wade returned to Aurouss Hill from Golim Mountain, the Webb family was frantic. The Eight Heavenly Kings had gone to rescue a father and son, and vanished without a trace. Donald’s phone was nearly dead from repeated calls. Then, a call came—from the bodyguard who'd escaped Golim Mountain.
He’d been waiting for news when he heard the local news report about an avalanche. Tens of thousands of tons of snow had blocked the mountain road, burying two cars and eight people. Rescuers had recovered eight bodies.
He immediately suspected the Eight Heavenly Kings, knowing they'd driven two off-road vehicles into the mountains. The area had few residents, and no tourists drove there. The locals used horse-drawn carriages.
He concluded the avalanche victims were the Eight Heavenly Kings and informed Donald.
Donald was devastated. He told his anxious father, "Dad… there was an avalanche at Golim Mountain. Two cars, eight dead. It's highly likely… the Eight Kings…"
Elder Webb was stricken, coughing. "Impossible! They were masters!"
Donald suggested, "I'll have someone identify the bodies."
Webb nodded. "Do it."
Chapter 1164
Claire Wilson woke to find Charlie Wade missing. She called, but couldn't reach him. This was unusual. She worried that his recent dealings with powerful people might have backfired. She feared repercussions if his reputation suffered.
Around 10 a.m., Wade called. Claire demanded, "Charlie Wade, where have you been?"
Wade, just off the plane, explained, "I was with a friend, doing Feng Shui. The location was unusual, affecting my phone signal, so I turned it off."
Claire exclaimed, "Feng Shui again? We agreed you'd stop!"
Wade quickly said, "This wasn't a big client; it was a friend from my old orphanage. He asked for help. I couldn't refuse."
Relieved, Claire asked, "When will you be home?"
"Twenty to thirty minutes," he replied.
Cameron Isaac’s helicopter took Wade, Don Albertt, and Liam to the city. Approaching the Thompson First villa, Wade told Liam, "Tomorrow, I'll have the lawyer meet you at Weaver Pharmaceuticals. After signing, I'll give you a good stomach medicine."
Liam exclaimed, "Master Wade, I'm yours for life! You helped me reclaim Weaver Pharmaceuticals. All the shares are yours!"
Wade waved his hand. "I'll take 80%. No more, no less. You'll get 20%, and I'll keep the formula for you."
Liam's heart shuddered. "I'll follow your instructions, Master Wade!"
Wade instructed Don Albertt and Cameron Isaac to return, maintaining secrecy. He asked to land on the golf course and walk to the villa.
Chapter 1165
Claire Wilson couldn't believe her husband had traveled to Golim Mountain and killed eight villains. Despite the journey, he showed no fatigue.
They were preparing lunch when Elaine Ma, Charlie Wade's mother-in-law, entered the yard with crutches and a large bag.
Claire asked, "Mom, where have you been? I haven't seen you."
Elaine laughed. "The wholesale market! I bought something!"
Claire scolded, "Mom, your leg isn't healed! Why were you running around?"
Elaine waved her hand. "I'm used to the crutches. It's fine."
Claire asked, "What's in the bag? Are you tired? I'll help!"
Elaine smiled. "No, it's all hats."
Claire was confused. "Mom, why so many hats? There are more than a dozen!"
Elaine smirked and opened the bag, revealing bright green hats. Claire gasped. "Mom… why so many green hats? Who would wear…"
Elaine laughed. "Twenty green hats! Not for wearing, but for hanging on the balcony!"
She recounted the affair between Hannah and Christopher, and her plan to hang the hats where Christopher could see them, taunting him constantly.
Claire protested, "Mom, why bother him like this? He's already in enough trouble."
"Enough ass!" Elaine snapped. "He was awful to our family. Now I’ll get my revenge!"
Charlie Wade shook his head helplessly at his mother-in-law’s mischievous plan.
Claire tried to dissuade her, but Elaine ignored her and went inside. She hung the twenty green hats on the balcony, facing the Wilsons' villa.
Christopher, having separated from Hannah, lived on the first floor. He wouldn't divorce her, due to pressure from Donald.
