The Amazing Son in Law: Chapters 1231-1235
Chapter 1231
The Kilgore Family Hospital staff are well acquainted with the Kilgore family and their considerable influence. They strive to please the family whenever possible.
A young nurse never imagined she would be favored by the three young masters. This felt like an extraordinary stroke of luck.
She knew that even simply accompanying them for the evening would be handsomely rewarded. Becoming pregnant with one of their children would elevate her status significantly. Many women seek wealth and status through relationships with rich men, often resorting to pregnancy to secure their position.
Upon hearing this, the nurse eagerly agreed, whispering, "Master Sam, I'll do anything you want!"
Sam, emboldened, immediately pulled the nurse onto the bed. Fortunately, a recently swallowed ruby necklace hadn't yet impaired his abilities.
The nurse was equally enthusiastic, and their encounter quickly became passionate. However, their intimacy was interrupted by the sudden opening of the ward door.
Sam, startled, saw his parents and grandparents standing there, shocked and speechless.
Sam's grandmother screamed and fell to the floor. His mother cried out in pain.
Sam hastily covered himself with sheets and stammered, "GrandpaGrandmaDadMom, whatwhat are you doing here?"
"You bastard!" Sam's father, Heath, roared, rushing to help his mother. As he reached her, she yelped, "Oh no, it hurts! I think I broke my tailbone. Get a doctor!"
Sam's grandfather was furious, pointing at him and shouting, "You shameless offspring! How dare you consort with this woman? What if she becomes pregnant with a Kilgore heir? You've disgraced our family!"
Sam's face went pale. He hadn't expected his family to arrive within ten minutes. He hadn't anticipated being caught in the act.
Seeing his grandfather's rage, Sam quickly tried to deflect blame: "Grandpa, I'm sorry. I was momentarily weak. The doctor said I shouldn't… for three months after the surgery. Please forgive me!"
Heath raged, "You scoundrel! Your grandparents care so much about you, and this is how you repay them? See what you’ve done to your grandmother? Go help her!"
A desperate Sam decided to shift the blame, pointing at the nurse and blurting, "Dad, she seduced me…"
Chapter 1232
The nurse, shielding herself with a pillow, protested tearfully, "Young Master, that's not true! I wouldn't betray my boyfriend like this. We're very much in love…"
Sam shouted, "You have a boyfriend?!"
The nurse sobbed, "My boyfriend and I have been together for years. We were planning to marry this year. If he finds out, I'll be ruined…"
Sam seethed with anger. Heath, his face grim, addressed the nurse: "I'll give you five million. Get out of this room and this hospital."
Overjoyed at the offer, the nurse quickly dressed and left. A doctor arrived to examine Sam's grandmother. Sam's grandfather and father followed the doctor, leaving Sam's mother, Lydia, in the ward.
Lydia glared at Sam, accusing him, "Why are you so reckless? Couldn't you have done that somewhere else? You knew your grandfather would be furious!"
"Mom, I'm sorry…" Sam hung his head, ashamed.
Lydia sighed, "Your grandfather values the Kilgore bloodline above all else. You are a male heir. Anyone who produces illegitimate children will be ostracized. Your third uncle's son and your fourth uncle's son are prime examples."
Sam knew those cousins had been banished to the South after fathering children out of wedlock. They were essentially disowned, cut off from the family's resources. His grandfather prized the purity of the Kilgore lineage, believing it should only be perpetuated through respectable women.
Sam was terrified. He was lucky his family arrived when they did. If the nurse had become pregnant, he would have been ruined.
He humbly told Lydia, "Mom, I won't do it again…"
Lydia sighed, "Saying it won't make it so. You need to apologize to your grandfather and get his forgiveness."
"Yes, Mom…" Sam replied dejectedly. "Mom, how did you get here so fast? I thought it would take at least twenty minutes."
Lydia glared at him, "We were going to drive, but your grandmother insisted on taking a helicopter. Now hurry and change your clothes. Go see how your grandmother is doing."
Chapter 1233
Sam was distraught. He quickly changed his clothes after his mother told him to see his grandmother.
Lydia asked, "What happened in Aurouss Hill? Why did you rush back after swallowing that ruby necklace? Was it for Miss Moore?"
Sam sighed, "Mom, don't remind me. I met a man named Wade. We made a bet, and I lost. I swallowed the necklace."
Lydia frowned, "Why would you provoke someone named Wade? Are they from the Wade family? We can't afford to offend them!"
Sam quickly clarified, "Not the Eastcliff Wade family. This guy's a son-in-law in Aurouss Hill. A total nobody. He used some weird pill, freezing the Moore family."
Lydia asked, "Did you discuss the marriage alliance with the Moores? Your father hoped you could impress your grandfather with this."
Sam said angrily, "The Moores are clueless. Jasmine is interested in this Charlie Wade. I suspect they're involved!"
"Impossible!" Lydia shook her head. "I investigated Jasmine. She's a wonderful girl. And a private investigator confirmed she's never been in a relationship." She lowered her voice, "I also found her medical records; she's still a virgin!"
Sam's eyes widened, "Jasmine's a virgin?!"
Lydia whispered, "Don't use such vulgar language! Your grandparents might hear you."
Sam apologized, "Sorry, Mom. I was shocked."
Lydia continued, "Jasmine is a wonderful girl. Your grandfather values lineage. If you marry her, he'll be delighted. That's why I sent you to Aurouss Hill." She whispered, "Jasmine is your best chance. Your grandfather wanted your uncle to pursue the fourth Miss Wade, but she rejected him. He also disapproved of your uncle's second son's choice, a Miss Phillip who had undergone excessive plastic surgery and has a wild temperament."
"If you marry Jasmine, you'll be in your grandparents' good graces. You could become their favorite!"
Sam finally understood Jasmine's importance.
Chapter 1234
Sam lamented, "If I'd known, I would have pursued her while studying abroad…"
Lydia asked, "Why didn't you?"
Sam sighed, "I preferred foreign girls. I dated them for years." He remembered something, "Mom, I embarrassed myself in front of Jasmine. She probably dislikes me. What can I do?"
Lydia sighed, "You need to repair your image. It takes time. Be prepared for a long game."
Sam said, "The doctor said I'll be bedridden for fifteen days. I can't go to Aurouss Hill."
Lydia said, "Fifteen days is nothing! Jasmine's been single for twenty-six years!"
Sam grinned, "Mom, that gives me confidence."
Lydia nodded and asked, "Did you see Loreen in Aurouss Hill?"
Sam replied, "No, I rushed to the Moores, then to the airport."
Lydia said, "Next time, visit her. She's been in Aurouss Hill a long time."
Sam asked in surprise, "Why did Loreen go to Aurouss Hill?"
Lydia said, "Your grandfather heard the Wade family bought Emgrand Group and wants Loreen to develop a relationship with the Wade young master."
Sam frowned, "Is there really a Wade young master in Aurouss Hill? I doubt it…" He thought of Charlie Wade. Could he be the Wade young master? No, Cameron Isaac denied it. He’s a nobody. That doesn't make sense.
Chapter 1235
The Eastcliff families are intricately connected through marriage. They're like the nobility of old, intermarrying to maintain power and status.
Sam's mother, Lydia Thomas, is Loreen's aunt. She married Heath Kilgore thirty-five years ago. The Thomas family was once more powerful than the Kilgore family, but their fortunes have reversed. The Kilgores cherish Lydia for her contributions to the family.
Sam, their fourth child, is twenty-seven. Lydia is concerned about his marriage. She searched for a suitable wife among Eastcliff's elite families but found none satisfactory. The Banks and Wade families' daughters were highly sought after, making them unattainable for the Kilgores. The families of similar status had daughters who were either already spoken for or undesirable.
Lydia hoped for a wealthy, capable, and beautiful daughter-in-law. But many wealthy women were lacking in other qualities. Many were spoiled, lacking skills or genuine accomplishments. Their education was often purchased, not earned.
Even Sam himself was, in a sense, privileged but underachieving. His education, like that of many wealthy youths, was largely bought.
Lydia didn't want her son to marry a spoiled rich girl. She had high hopes for Jasmine. However, Sam's actions in Aurouss Hill were disastrous. She felt helpless. Despite her disappointment, Lydia focuses on preparing for Sam's surgery and tending to his injured grandmother.
