The Amazing Son in Law
Chapter 1341
Charlie Wade channeled Reiki into Aurora, gently permeating her body like a silent spring rain. This Reiki was far more potent than any medicine she had previously refined, significantly improving her physical fitness, muscles, tendons, bones, and internal organs. Though a seasoned martial artist, Aurora remained, ultimately, an ordinary person. For someone like her, Reiki's effect was akin to a miracle cure. Her enhanced strength was incomparable to her previous level.
After Charlie Wade finished, Aurora sighed deeply, then stood and began hitting a sandbag. Unaware of the extent of her enhanced fitness, she struck with full force, causing the top-quality buffalo leather sandbag to explode. These bags are renowned for their durability and resistance to deformation, even under intense pressure. However, Aurora's strength had increased exponentially.
Seeing the hole in the sandbag and the sand scattered across the floor, Aurora was speechless. After regaining her composure, she turned to Charlie Wade, exclaiming, "Master Wade how how could I have so much power?"
Charlie Wade smiled. "The 'magic medicine,' as you call it, not only heals wounds and saves lives, but also fundamentally strengthens the body."
Aurora gasped, "Goodness! It's more effective than five years of hard training! This medicine is incredible!"
Charlie Wade nodded. "Your current strength surpasses your peers. You'll surely win the championship."
Overwhelmed with excitement, Aurora hugged Charlie Wade's arm, her eyes brimming with tears. "Master Wade, thank you so much I never expected such strength" She then impulsively kissed his cheek.
Charlie Wade, though capable of avoiding the kiss, found himself unable to move. Perhaps, deep down, he didn't want to. Aurora blushed, whispering, "Master Wade, please don't misunderstand I just wanted to thank you" Her voice trailed off.
Charlie Wade touched his cheek. "With continued hard work, you could even compete in the Olympics and win glory for your country."
"Really?" Aurora asked, overjoyed. "Do you think I'm strong enough?"
Charlie Wade smiled. "Your physical fitness is already top-tier. With improvements in skill, awareness, and tactics, Olympic competition is entirely feasible."
Aurora nodded earnestly. "If I defeat Nanako Ito, I'll aim for the Olympics!"
Charlie Wade smiled. "I believe you can!"
Chapter 1342
Aurora urged, "Master Wade, you must come to my match the day after tomorrow!"
"Don't worry, I will be there!"
Meanwhile, at Maverick Entertainment Group, Stefanie Sun, a top artist under Natalia Tang, was shooting a fashion magazine cover. This was her fourth cover, a commonplace event for her. Dressed in a Chanel black and white dress, she exuded an air of sophisticated aloofness, a powerful woman both alluring and untouchable.
After the photoshoot, her assistant provided warm water and a packet of Kobayashi's Niranex. Stefanie frowned slightly, apparently in some pain. The stomach medicine offered some relief.
Joss Hale, Maverick's CEO, approached with a smile. "Miss Sun, you look amazing! This magazine cover will be a huge success, even surpassing the previous one in sales and price!"
Stefanie Sun replied calmly, "Mr. Hale, please don't book me for magazine covers so frequently. I don't enjoy it."
Joss Hale quickly responded, "Miss Sun, the magazine has been eager to feature you. It wasn't my decision!"
Stefanie explained, "Can you decline? Every time I'm on the cover, you inflate the price exorbitantly. I don't want my fans to pay such inflated prices."
Joss Hale countered, "Fans are willing to pay because they love you. A recent drama’s male leads had their magazine sell for over 300 dollars per copy."
Stefanie Sun stated firmly, "Mr. Hale, I refuse to exploit my fans. After this, I won't do any magazine covers for the next year."
Joss Hale, though the owner of Maverick Entertainment, could only acquiesce. He owns only 30% of the company's 20 billion-dollar valuation, whereas Stefanie Sun's family, the Eastcliff Sun family, could easily afford to buy Maverick. Stefanie's foray into the entertainment industry stems from personal preference, not financial gain. Her family fully supports her endeavors. She joined Maverick Entertainment due to Natalia Tang's close relationship with her father. This connection grants Stefanie a unique position within the company.
Chapter 1343
After finishing filming, Stefanie Sun told Joss Hale, "Mr. Hale, I'm going home. I don't feel well."
Joss Hale expressed concern, "Miss Sun, is your stomach still bothering you?"
Stefanie shook her head. "I was filming in the US and experienced some digestive discomfort. I need a break next month. Please don't schedule any jobs."
Joss Hale readily agreed, promising a rest and an apology to her father. He admitted his oversight in not providing better care during her US filming.
Stefanie waved dismissively, "It's not your fault. I'll go now."
Joss Hale asked if she needed a car, but she declined, indicating her assistant's car was waiting.
Stefanie's agent approached. After learning of Stefanie's filming completion and month-long break, the agent mentioned a pharmaceutical company in Aurouss Hill seeking an endorsement deal for their stomach medicine. Stefanie, intrigued, requested to review the information.
Stefanie had been suffering from stomach problems stemming from dietary issues and environmental changes. Western medicine proved ineffective, only Kobayashi's Niranex providing temporary relief, which wore off quickly. She planned to consult a top Chinese medicine doctor.
The agent mentioned the pharmaceutical company's product, Nova Dias, described as an ancient formula modernized for treating stomach ailments.
Chapter 1344
Stefanie, curious, learned that Niranex, a popular and effective medicine, was based on an ancient Chinese formula. She wondered if Nova Dias possessed similar efficacy. She liked the name's meaning: "Nine Heavens Above," symbolizing supreme excellence.
She asked her agent if samples were available. The agent produced a small packet, along with a note stating: "For stomach discomfort, one packet is enough; judge for yourself." Stefanie was surprised; she consumed many Niranex packets daily. The agent speculated it might be a placebo.
Stefanie questioned the medicine's approval, which the agent confirmed was pending. Stefanie, unconvinced by the agent's caution against an unknown product, decided to try it. Her agent argued that a small company's product would likely be inferior to Kobayashi's Niranex. Stefanie countered her agent's apparent bias towards foreign products.
Chapter 1345
Stefanie opened the Nova Dias packet, noting the strong herbal scent. Her agent commented on the pleasant fragrance. Stefanie, believing it indicated high-quality ingredients, consumed the powder. Immediately, she felt a comforting warmth spread through her stomach.
She exclaimed, "This medicine is amazing! My stomach feels so much better!"
Her agent asked if it was superior to Niranex. Stefanie declared it was far more effective, providing complete relief unlike Niranex, which only offered temporary pain reduction.
The agent, aware of Stefanie's ongoing stomach issues, was amazed by the new drug's effect. Stefanie planned to monitor its long-term effects.
Stefanie went home to rest, enjoying sustained relief. The discomfort did not return, much to her relief and happiness.
