The Amazing Son-in-Law, Chapter 1486

As soon as the voice fell, loud gunfire erupted! When the gunfire ceased, Jiro Kobayashi was shocked to find himself alone. Charlie Wade had ensured that, besides Kobayashi, no one else would remain. Consequently, Cameron Isaac's men showed no mercy. Kobayashi saw his assistant, driver, and the masters he'd brought from Japan, all lying in pools of blood, their fates uncertain. His body collapsed, and he instantly cried, "Please! Please don't kill me! I'm the patriarch of the Kobayashi family and chairman of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.! If you spare me, I'll pay anything!"

A cold voice responded: "Jiro Kobayashi, your family has a poor memory. You keep causing me trouble."

Kobayashi shuddered at the voice. He soon saw Charlie Wade's handsome, arrogant face.

"Wade… Mr. Wade?!" Kobayashi nearly collapsed. "You… why are you here?"

Charlie Wade asked, "Liam is my man, and Oracle Pharmaceutical is my company. You tried to kidnap him and steal the Oracle Nova Dias formula. Of course, I'd come! Lest you think I'm a pushover, easily manipulated by you and your dead brother."

"Ah?!" Kobayashi plopped to his knees, crying, "Mr. Wade, I'm sorry! I didn't know Liam was yours, or that Oracle Pharmaceutical was yours. If I had, I would have died rather than disobey you!"

Charlie Wade smiled coldly. "Don't give me that crap. You attacked my people, and you dare say you didn't disobey me? Do you think I'm a three-year-old?"

Kobayashi, terrified, fainted. He knew who Charlie Wade was and his methods; his brother had fallen victim to them. Now, in Wade's hands, he knew he wouldn't be spared easily. Fearing a similar fate for himself, he kowtowed, pleading, "Mr. Wade, please be merciful. Consider this a lesson. I'll pay you! A billion? Just nod, and I'll transfer the money immediately."

"Ten billion?" Charlie Wade scoffed. "This isn't about money, Jiro Kobayashi."

Kobayashi cried, "Mr. Wade, what will satisfy you?"

Charlie Wade said contemptuously, "Stay in Japan. Mind your own business. But you didn't, and you came to trouble me. Therefore, I will send you to join your brother!"

"Ah?!" Kobayashi, believing his brother was dead, urinated in terror. His pants were soaked, but he couldn't care, continuing to wail, "No, Mr. Wade! No! I'm too young!! I don't want to die!!! Please spare my life! I'll be your servant!"

Charlie Wade sneered, "A grown man crying like this? When did I say I'd kill you? You'll be my dog."

Kobayashi looked surprised. "You… didn't you say you'd send me to see my brother?"

Charlie Wade hummed, "I did, but I forgot to mention… I kept your brother alive as my dog, too!"

The Amazing Son-in-Law, Chapter 1487

Hearing that his brother lived, Jiro Kobayashi completely broke down. He raged, "You… you took a billion dollars and promised to kill my brother! You lied to me?!"

Charlie Wade smiled. "Jiro Kobayashi, don't be so naive. Intrigue is the name of the game. Don't you understand?"

Kobayashi fumed, "You… you're untrustworthy!"

Charlie Wade countered, "Untrustworthy? You? You came from Japan to steal my formula and kidnap my subordinates. You talk about trustworthiness? Your brother did the same! Is stealing normal for your family?"

Kobayashi was speechless.

Wade said disgustedly, "So I'm untrustworthy? Fine! I'll have your brother killed now!"

He looked at Kobayashi. "And I said I'd send you to join him. Since you don't want your brother to live, I'll kill him first, then you. That's trustworthiness, right?"

Kobayashi trembled with fear. He kowtowed, begging, "Mr. Wade, I was wrong! Please forgive me! Thank you for sparing my brother's life… and mine!"

Charlie Wade sneered. "Fine. Let's go. I'll take you to see your brother." He gestured to Cameron Isaac. "Take him to Don Albertt's dog farm!"

Cameron Isaac nodded. "Yes, Master Wade!"

Liam asked, "Master Wade, should I come too?"

Wade patted his shoulder. "You're busy enough. Rest. Oversee the factory tomorrow."

Liam nodded. "Master Wade, I'll go back."

Cameron Isaac's men took Kobayashi. Isaac stayed behind to handle the aftermath and drove Wade to Don Albertt's dog farm. Upon arrival, Isaac had Kobayashi brought to Don Albertt's office. Albertt greeted Wade respectfully. "Master Wade, you're here!"

Wade nodded. "Don Albertt, how's Ichiro Kobayashi doing?"

Albertt smiled. "He's quite obedient. He raises dogs, walks dogs, cleans kennels, and studies Chinese. Last month, he even asked me to buy him two dictionaries."

Wade smiled. "He's quite passionate about learning."

Albertt said, "Master Wade, he has nowhere to go. He stays here 24/7. It helps pass the time."

Wade said, "Call him over."

"Yes!"

The Amazing Son-in-Law, Chapter 1488

Soon, a man in work overalls rushed in excitedly. Seeing Wade, he exclaimed, "Mr. Wade, hello! Long time no see!"

Ichiro Kobayashi had spent a long time at the farm, mostly with dogs, feeling lonely. Seeing Wade, he was agitated. It was rare to see a familiar face.

Wade smiled. "Ichiro Kobayashi, your Chinese is excellent. Have you been working hard?"

Ichiro smiled shyly. "Besides raising dogs, I've studied Chinese. The workers have helped me practice. Thank you, Mr. Wade."

Wade nodded, gesturing to the kneeling, trembling Jiro Kobayashi whose back was to Ichiro. "Ichiro, I brought an acquaintance. See who this is."

Jiro trembled violently. Hearing his brother's voice, he was terrified; he knew he was wrong. He'd hired people to kill Ichiro, even paying Wade a billion to end him. He never imagined Ichiro was still alive.

Ichiro didn't know the kneeling man was his brother. Curious, he leaned closer. Upon seeing Jiro's face, he was struck speechless. His veins bulged.

"Jiro! You bastard! I considered you a brother, but you tried to kill me! I'll kill you!"

Jiro cried, "Brother! It wasn't my fault! Father died after taking medicine you sent. I thought you killed him!"

Ichiro lunged, grabbing Jiro's collar and punching him. "You think you can lie to me? You knew I couldn't have killed Father from China, and that I would inherit the family business after his death! You accused me of patricide to kill me and take over the Kobayashi family!"

The Amazing Son-in-Law, Chapter 1489

Jiro was beaten bloody, nearly passing out several times, only to be awakened by Ichiro's blows. Ichiro, hardened by his time at the kennel, was far stronger than the weakened Jiro. Jiro cried, "Brother, forgive me…"

Ichiro gritted his teeth. "Do you still think we're brothers?! Jiro, have you forgotten how much I loved you? Even as adults, we fought, but I never hurt you! Yet you accused me of patricide and tried to kill me! I will cleanse the Kobayashi family's honor by killing you!"

Jiro wailed. Ichiro showed no mercy. Seeing him about to kill Jiro, Charlie Wade intervened, holding Ichiro back. "Ichiro, let your brother live. He'll take your job here."

Ichiro was startled. "Mr. Wade, why keep this treacherous bastard?! He might turn on you!"

Wade laughed sarcastically. "I'll give him the courage. Will he dare?"

Hearing that he'd take over Ichiro's job, Jiro kowtowed. "Mr. Wade, thank you for your mercy!"

Wade chuckled. Ichiro asked respectfully, "Mr. Wade, what are my arrangements?"

Wade looked at Ichiro. "Ichiro, do you want to return to Japan and inherit Kobayashi Pharmaceutical?"

Ichiro's blood boiled. "Go back?! Inherit Kobayashi Pharmaceutical?! Mr. Wade… You… are you kidding?"

Wade smiled. "I'm serious. If I let you go, would you want to?"

Ichiro trembled with excitement. "Yes, Mr. Wade, yes!"

Wade nodded. "Okay, but I have a condition."

Ichiro knew Wade wouldn't let him go without a price. "Mr. Wade, I promise! Just let me go back!"

He longed to return to his old life, dreaming it would never happen, only for Wade to offer this opportunity. He'd pay any price!

He never imagined Wade's demand: "Ichiro Kobayashi, I'll send you back to run Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, but I want 80% of the company. Agree?"

The Amazing Son-in-Law, Chapter 1490

"What?!" Both Ichiro and Jiro were stunned. 80%? That was outrageous!

Kobayashi was horrified. He'd assumed Wade wanted money, a few billion at most, which he would've paid. But 80% of the company?!

Jiro, however, quickly calculated. Why did Wade want shares? To mass-produce Oracle Nova Dias. If Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's market value was 100 billion dollars, 80% would be 80 billion. But Ichiro was unaware of Nova Dias’s amazing success. If Oracle Pharmaceutical continued to grow, Kobayashi's income would plummet, and its market value could fall below 20 billion. Owning 100% of a failing company wouldn't be worth 80 billion.

But cooperating with Wade would be different. Wade would use Kobayashi’s production lines, dramatically increasing Nova Dias output and profits. Even with only 20% of the shares, if Kobayashi Pharmaceutical doubled or tripled in value, their share would be worth much more than before. Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's current products were being overtaken; it was failing fast.

Jiro spat out blood and shouted, "Mr. Wade, I agree! 80%! Please let my brother go!"

Ichiro didn't hesitate. "Mr. Wade, I agree! 80%!"

Jiro cried, "Mr. Wade, I'll give 85%!!!"

Ichiro raged, "Jiro, you brute! You're still trying to hurt me?!" He turned to Wade. "Mr. Wade, I'll pay 90%!"

Jiro knew that failing to cooperate meant a lifetime of hardship. He realized that collaboration was the only way to rebuild his family fortune.
