The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 1516-1520
Chapter 1516
A surge of exhilaration filled the God of War's heart. He always carried a concealed firearm, a lifeline despite his martial arts background and aversion to guns. As Hank's bodyguard, he rarely faced danger, but the gun provided an extra layer of security. However, while Charlie Wade was close, he lacked any opportunity to draw his weapon.
Now, things were different. Charlie Wade's attention shifted from him to Hank and Carl. The God of War saw a chance. Even powerful opponents feared bullets; a single shot could neutralize them, and two more would finish even a martial arts master. Success meant avenging his humiliation and claiming a $100 million bonus from his employer—enough to retire comfortably.
He raised his arm, attempting to discreetly retrieve his gun. However, his arm felt weak, almost useless. He'd kept it still earlier for fear of angering Charlie Wade, failing to notice the onset of muscle weakness.
"What's happening?" he wondered. "Was I so scared my body is paralyzed?"
He gritted his teeth, trying to force his arm to move, but his strength was nearly gone.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Despite the shock, the $100 million spurred him on. The usually simple task of reaching for his gun now took agonizing minutes, leaving him exhausted and sweating. Finally, he managed to touch the gun beneath his clothing, but grabbing it proved impossible. His fingers felt numb, unresponsive.
Charlie Wade, though not looking at him, sensed the God of War's struggle against the lingering energy he'd imparted. He looked up, sneering, "What's wrong, God of War?"
"Nothing, absolutely nothing," the God of War stammered.
Charlie Wade smirked. "If you want the gun, go ahead and get it."
The God of War trembled. He knew something was wrong; Charlie Wade had done something to him.
Charlie Wade's gaze sharpened. "Be honest. You can still control your bowels for now. Dare to try again, and I'll make sure you can't control anything. If you start wetting and soiling yourself like a toddler, don't blame me."
Terror gripped the God of War. What supernatural power did this man possess? How had he rendered him nearly helpless?
Chapter 1517
Hank watched in disbelief. His highly paid God of War and Realm Master were on their knees, begging for mercy—and now couldn't even draw their guns. It was ludicrous; these men were masters of firearms, as unthinkable as a barber incapable of wielding scissors.
Seeing the God of War's terrified state, Hank realized it was pointless to rely on them. His earlier insult was a wasted effort. Resentful but wary, he merely said, "Fine! Kid, I remember you! We'll see about this!"
He ordered his son, Trevor, "Let's go!"
Charlie Wade, who'd been smiling, sneered, "Go? Who said you could?"
Hank recoiled, trembling. "What do you mean?"
"You and your dogs came to someone's house to cause trouble, and now you want to leave?" Charlie Wade said coldly.
Hank, unprepared for Charlie Wade's refusal to let them go, asked, "What do you want?"
"Simple," Charlie Wade replied. "You messed with me; you'll pay the price. None of you are leaving."
Trevor angrily retorted, "Don't push it! You don't know how you'll die!"
Charlie Wade frowned. "Who gave you the courage to talk to me like that?"
Trevor, despite his fear, threatened, "You provoked the Sun family! We'll offer a billion-dollar bounty for your head!"
Charlie Wade nodded. "Interesting. Are you married?"
Trevor was stunned. Charlie Wade grabbed his ears, twisting them violently.
"Are you deaf?" Charlie Wade hissed.
Trevor screamed in agony. Charlie Wade continued twisting until Trevor begged for mercy. Charlie Wade only stopped after Trevor confirmed he was unmarried, childless, and his father's only son.
Chapter 1518
Charlie Wade turned to Hank, smiling. "I heard you mock others for having no sons. Your son is your lifeblood, right?"
Hank, sensing a threat, nervously asked, "What do you intend to do? Hurt my son, and you'll face my wrath!"
Charlie Wade smirked. "I won't hurt your son. I'll hurt your grandson."
Hank was confused. Charlie Wade mentioned Kenneth Wilson, the chairman of the Eastcliff Group, and his recent impotence. He pressed Hank on this, revealing that while Wilson was infertile, he could still father children through artificial insemination. Then, he announced that Trevor would be infertile.
Trevor angrily protested, but Charlie Wade just laughed. He’d rendered Trevor infertile with his energy.
Everyone was shocked. Cursing someone's infertility was outrageous.
Hank gritted his teeth. "Is that it? Can we go?"
"Not yet." Charlie Wade turned to Daniel, Carl's son. "Come here, kid. I'm going to perform a vasectomy."
Daniel recoiled, terrified. Charlie Wade performed a 'cloud ligation' on both Trevor and Daniel using his energy. He then turned to Hank and Carl, remarking that they probably weren't too old to still have children.
Hank and Carl were enraged. Charlie Wade, however, snapped his fingers, telling them they could leave but if they sought revenge, they should first kneel and beg forgiveness at Uncle Orrin’s villa.
Chapter 1519
Hank's group hesitated, unsure of Charlie Wade's intentions. Charlie Wade gave them three seconds to leave or stay. Orrin gestured for them to go.
The Sun family left, but the God of War and Realm Master, their legs useless, remained kneeling. They pleaded with Hank for help, but Hank angrily berated them, telling Trevor and Daniel to help them up. They limped away.
Hank, though subdued, planned revenge, and vowed to eliminate Charlie Wade and then seek a share of his eldest brother Orrin's assets. He then manipulatively reminded Orrin about the upcoming board meeting, knowing it would put pressure on his ailing brother.
Chapter 1520
Hank intended to use the board meeting to pressure Orrin into relinquishing the chairmanship, paving the way to seize control of the Sun Group. Orrin, knowing this, resolved to attend the meeting and fight for his position, even in his weakened state. The conflict centered around the Sun Group's shares; a power struggle between the brothers. Hank's plan, should his power grab fail, included the extreme measure of eliminating Orrin's family to claim his shares, but this was a high-risk gamble.
