Chapter 1646

Don Albert nodded immediately. "No problem, Master Wade! I will follow your instructions!"

Charlie Wade nodded in satisfaction and said to Cameron Isaac, "Isaac, Don Albert, Paul from Smith Law Firm, and Ichiro Kobayashi from the Kobayashi family are with us. Please have the crew prepare."

"Yes, Master! I'll make the arrangements."

Ichiro and Jiro Kobayashi then recorded separate videos. Afterward, Don Albert's men returned them both.

Charlie Wade addressed the brothers calmly. "Ichiro, rest today. Don Albert will take you to the airport tomorrow. However, be warned: don't act as if you're back on home turf. Any disobedience will not be tolerated."

Ichiro nodded vigorously. "Mr. Wade, I swear, I won't disobey you."

Charlie Wade hummed, then looked at Jiro. "Jiro, you stay here. Don Albert's men will ensure you're well cared for. You can pray your brother doesn't cause trouble, giving you a chance to return to Japan."

Ichiro waved his hands frantically. "Mr. Wade, don't worry! I won't cause any problems. That bastard Jiro will never leave this place!"

Jiro gritted his teeth angrily. With Ichiro now Charlie Wade's first choice, he was relegated to a spare tire—useless unless the primary tire fails. This fueled his hatred for his brother. If not for the presence of others, he would have strangled Ichiro.

Charlie Wade was pleased by their animosity. This rivalry would ensure neither brother dared to defy him. They would be his puppets.

He stood and addressed Don Albert. "Don Albert, starting tomorrow, we will increase security at the compound. Jiro Kobayashi is not to leave."

Don Albert nodded. "Master Wade, rest assured. We have over twenty guards and dozens of fierce purebred hounds. One bite from a dog would be enough for Jiro. Tomorrow, I'll add ten more men; this place will be an iron fortress!"

Charlie Wade smiled. "Your methods are becoming quite appealing. But be careful. If he's disobedient and a dog bites him, don't let it kill him. Keeping him alive is preferable."

Don Albert looked at Jiro and smirked. "If that kid tries to run, my snow mastiff will get him first!"

Chapter 1647

Kobayashi Pharmaceutical has multiple production bases in Japan, headquartered in Tokyo. Additional production lines are located in Yokohama, Osaka, and Nagoya. Recently, they invested heavily in Asia's largest biopharmaceutical production base in Osaka.

Charlie Wade's trip to Japan included finalizing the share transfer agreement with Kobayashi Pharmaceutical and bringing Liam from Weaver's Pharmaceuticals to inspect the production bases. Liam, now Oracle Pharmaceutical's general manager, would temporarily oversee Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's production. Later, Stephen Thompson could take over, allowing Liam to focus on expanding Oracle Pharmaceutical in China.

Charlie Wade and Cameron Isaac planned a trip from Aurouss Hill to Tokyo the next morning. Cameron Isaac would arrange local support and security. After Tokyo, they'd drive west to Yokohama (less than 100 kilometers), then to Nagoya and finally Osaka. They would fly back to Aurouss Hill from Osaka.

Driving was preferred because, despite the distances between cities, flying would be less efficient due to the need to visit Yokohama and Nagoya.

Examining a map, Charlie Wade noticed the highway from Nagoya to Osaka passed through Kyoto, where the injured Nanako Ito was resting. He decided to visit her.

Chapter 1648

At dinner, Charlie Wade informed his family of his trip. Claire expressed dismay at his immediate departure. Jacob worried about his health. Elaine, however, was excited, contrasting Charlie's ambition with Jacob's perceived lack of success. A heated argument between Jacob and Elaine ensued, with Claire attempting to mediate. Charlie mentioned the trip would last three to five days, possibly a week. Claire was surprised by the length. Charlie explained that working abroad was less efficient than in China. Elaine eagerly inquired about his payment, delighted upon hearing it was two or three million yen. She then immediately requested Japanese cosmetics as a gift. Jacob protested her greed, sparking another argument.

Chapter 1649

Claire murmured about the trip's length. Charlie explained the complexities of working abroad. Elaine again asked about payment and gifts. Jacob protested, leading to another argument. Charlie, used to their bickering, remained unfazed. After dinner, in their bedroom, Claire unexpectedly climbed into Charlie's bed and hugged him, expressing an unprecedented sense of security. Charlie, startled, inquired about her actions. Claire confessed she didn't want him to leave and wanted to hug him to sleep. Charlie felt a pang in his heart, comforted her, and suggested sleeping together more often. Claire, initially hesitant, agreed. Charlie, however, was distracted by thoughts of Nanako Ito, which hampered his usual romantic advances. He gently embraced Claire, who was surprised by his calmness, and fell asleep slightly disappointed.

Chapter 1650

Charlie woke early, troubled by persistent thoughts of Nanako Ito. He felt sympathy for her injuries and suffering, unlike his other relationships. He felt guilty towards Stefanie but believed Stefanie's life was already fulfilling. Nanako's situation was different; her injuries and the circumstances leading to them caused him deep concern. After washing, he left without waking Claire. Cameron Isaac and his entourage waited. Charlie left a note for his family and departed. Cameron informed Charlie that Paul, Liam, Don Albert, and Ichiro would meet them at the airport; the plane was ready. Charlie felt an urge to go to Tokyo, then directly to Kyoto to see Nanako Ito. He felt that this was mostly because he had sympathy for her, and by helping her, the concern over her will go away. He urged Cameron Isaac to hurry.
