Chapter 2002
She hated that her life was as miserable as she'd made it. She even wished her misery to be complete. But how did the staff know she truly believed it?
The staff reasoned that normal people wouldn't curse their families gratuitously. Therefore, the lady's words must be true.
With feigned sympathy, she said, "No wonder you're still working at your age. It can't be easy with your family's misfortunes."
"Lady, we have seven or eight steamed buns, almost four servings of rice, and some leftover food. I'll pack some for you," she offered.
Lady Wilson was thrilled but controlled her excitement, saying with a mournful face, "But I don't have a lunchbox… My daughters-in-law are struggling; I can't afford one…"
She pointed to a plastic bag hanging near the counter. "How about this, sister? Put the leftovers in this, and I'll carry them home."
The staff eagerly nodded. "That's fine, as long as you don't mind!"
Lady Wilson panicked. "No, no, not at all!"
This was her first glimpse of a different world.
Once she started walking, Lady Wilson regretted her decision. "This is so heavy! How will I carry all this?" she thought.
Exhausted and on the verge of collapse, Lady Wilson was accosted by a woman who screamed at her. Angrily, Lady Wilson retorted, "Mind your own business! I live in Villa A04! Look at your fancy clothes; you probably live in a cramped apartment!"
Enraged, the woman rushed toward Lady Wilson, slapping her and cursing, "Old hag! My mother's apartment cost over 20 million, and you dare mock me? You're poor and you claim to live in a villa? You deserve this!"
