He'd colluded with Rueben to deceive Jasmine, telling her to meet the chairman in West Domo County to sign a contract—a meeting the chairman knew nothing about.

If Jasmine were alive, her explanation to the police about her presence in West Domo County would unravel everything. The Japanese police would immediately arrest Konzen for murder—a serious crime, especially with three deaths.
