Chapter 122

Leon went to see a psychiatrist. After reviewing his test results, the psychiatrist concluded that his pain seemed like phantom pain. They tried to help him with psychological guidance and suggestions, but it was useless. Leon still felt pain.

Leon then asked a friend for help and scheduled an appointment with another well-known psychiatrist. After the session, the psychiatrist performed a test. After reviewing the results, he told Leon that this was not a psychological issue. He suggested Leon consult a horoscope or psychic expert.

With no physical illness and a normal mental state, the only option left was to try the mystical route. Leon wasn’t too disappointed by this outcome. He had mentally prepared for it. After all, Phoebe was a horoscope and psychic expert, and it was highly likely she had done something to him.

Instead of immediately contacting Elliot, he decided to have a certified expert check first. He saw three experts in a row, but none of them were able to identify any signs that he had been affected, let alone provide a solution.

Finally, Leon had no choice but to call his father. On the other end, at Jenkins Group, an expert hired by the company was giving suggestions on the layout. Every three months or so, this expert would come to the group for adjustments. As the chairman, Elliot always had the expert check his office as well. This time, the expert adjusted two minor arrangements.

After finishing, the expert looked at Elliot. “I can tell that you have a child with problems.”

Elliot was taken aback. “Please elaborate, Mr. Newton.”

Elliot’s secretary checked and found that Damon Newton had no connection to his adopted daughter or her original family. Even with this information, Elliot’s suspicions weren’t entirely dispelled.

Damon continued, “You have a son and a daughter. It seems they have been affected by something that has caused health issues.”

Elliot hadn’t heard anything about this from anyone at home. Just as he was about to respond, his phone rang. Seeing it was Leon calling, he answered, “What is it?”

Leon, who appeared arrogant and unrestrained in public, was respectful and cautious with Elliot. He said, “Dad, I need your help with something.”

Elliot had lunch. “What do you need help with?” It seemed that what Damon had mentioned might relate to his son.

Leon stated, “Sienna and I were hit by Phoebe, and the places I got hit have been hurting constantly. I went to see a doctor, and the results came back normal. But my chest and stomach have been in pain without any break. So, I want to ask the Jenkins Group’s expert for help.”

Elliot was surprised. “Who did you say hit you?”

Leon replied, “Phoebe. Frank and his assistant were also hit by Brenda at that time. They have been hurting too, and their results are the same. There can’t be such a coincidence. Our pain must be from an issue?” He added, “Phoebe is an expert in horoscope and psychic readings. She must have done something to us.”

Elliot didn’t expect that Leon and Sienna’s health issues could be caused by Phoebe. Damon had already perceived this beforehand. Of course, Elliot wondered if he had foreseen it or if he already knew about it.

After contemplating, he said, “Wait.” Then, he turned to Damon and asked, “My son and the others indeed have health issues. Can they come to see you now?”

Damon smiled and replied, “Sure, let them come.”

Elliot told Leon, “Bring the other three with you and come to my office at Jenkins Group.”

Leon hadn’t planned on involving Frank, but since his father requested it, he sent Frank a message. Then he went to find Sienna. Semiti was in Joshua’s room, being comforted by both Joshua and Cain. When they saw Leon enter, they didn’t look pleased.

Joshua frowned and said, “Leon, why are you picking on Sienna! That’s going too far!”

Cain chimed in, “Yeah. If things aren’t going well for you, don’t take it out on her?”

Leon just stared at them, thinking his two brothers were completely clueless. He couldn’t be bothered to argue with them. They’d figure things out for themselves sooner or later.

Leon turned to Sienna and said, “I talked to Dad. He’s having Jenkins Group’s expert take a look at us. Do you want to come?”

Without hesitation, Sienna replied, “Yes, right now?” She had been preparing for this.

Leon nodded. “Then let’s go.” He didn’t wait for her, heading out of the room immediately and asking the butler to arrange a driver, as his chest pain made it impossible for him to walk.

Watching Leon’s attitude, Joshua and Cain were both annoyed, though neither dared to confront him directly. Leon could be quite cunning and had caused them enough grief growing up.

“Sienna, we’ll go with you,” Joshua said.

“Yeah, if we’re there, Leon won’t mess with you again,” Cain added. The two stood up, each taking a side next to Sienna. Sienna smiled through her tears. “Thank you.” This was exactly the kind of response she had hoped for. She thought Leon’s attitude must be due to whatever Phoebe had done to him. Since he was in constant pain, he was acting irritable, even towards her. Once the expert helped them, Leon would likely return to his normal self.

The four of them went together to Elliot’s office. When they arrived, Frank and Edith were already there, chatting with Elliot about business matters. The group entered, Elliot stopped the conversation and looked toward Damon.

“Mr. Newton, they’re all here now. Please help them,” Elliot requested.

Damon nodded with a polite smile. “Of course.” He began with Leon, observing his face and physical appearance but finding nothing unusual. After asking about the areas of pain, he placed his hand on Leon’s chest but sensed no sign of evil energy or any kind of curse. He checked the others as well but found similar results.

Damon’s smile faded. He couldn’t quite grasp what was going on. Based on his assumptions, these four should have been afflicted by some form of evil energy or a curse. After a moment’s thought, he pulled four talismans from his coat pocket. Handing them over, he instructed, “Keep these close to your belly and see if it makes a difference.”

The four took the talismans and placed them on their chests as instructed. However, after a while, there was no relief. In fact, the pain seemed to intensify.

Suddenly, Leon cried out in shock. Everyone looked to see a flash of flame coming from his shirt pocket. Once the light faded, Leon reached into his pocket, surprised. “The talisman turned to ash.” He pulled out a handful of black ash from his pocket.

Frank quickly reached for the talisman he had, feeling a burning sensation in that spot. He also pulled out a handful of black ash. The same happened with Sienna and Edith.

Seeing this, Elliot turned to Damon with a perplexed look. “Mr. Newton, what is going on here?”

Damon’s smile froze awkwardly. He had no idea.
