Sienna noticed Leon no longer even looked at her after he spoke. She was furious. She thought Leon was getting more and more outrageous, treating her like this in front of Elliot. Feeling wronged, Sartina sat back down with a pitiful expression, gripping the beads tightly. She began thinking about how she could win him back.

Meanwhile, Leon felt the pain in his chest and abdomen intensify. He turned to Elliot and said, “Dad, Damon must be a fraud. After his so-called treatment, my pain has doubled.”

Elliot saw that his son’s face was pale, sweat forming on his forehead. He felt a bit sorry for Leon, but this was also a good opportunity for Leon to learn a lesson. Sighing, he said, “Just bear with it. We’ll wait for him to return and see what he says.”

If things didn’t get better, they would have no choice but to find Phoebe. Leon had the urge to slam his head against the wall. Thinking for a moment, he suddenly grabbed Joshua’s hand and squeezed it hard.

Elliot merely shot him a cold glance. “Isn’t this what you asked for, carber? Leon is just fulfilling your request.” He had never expected Cain and Joshua to achieve anything great. It would’ve been fine if they were just rich playboys who only knew how to have fun. But being stupid enough to be manipulated was unacceptable.

Joshua couldn’t help but think his father was being biased. He was full of resentment but didn’t dare to complain in front of Elliot. He had no choice but to endure Leon’s torment.

At this point, Edith couldn’t take it anymore. She turned to Frank and directly asked for the pendant. But Frank acted as if he were asleep and didn’t respond at all. Edith felt humiliated. She apologized to Elliot and then ran out of the office in tears. She went straight to the secretary outside to ask for some ice to soothe her face.

They instinctively turned to look at Elliot, whose expression had darkened. Leon finally let go of his foolish younger brother and pulled Frank up by the shoulder. Clenching his teeth slightly, he said, “Come on. Let’s go to the restroom.”

Frank didn’t resist. After informing Elliot, the two of them left. But instead of going to the restroom, they headed to a small, empty balcony.

Once they were there, Leon stared at Frank angrily. “What the hell was that? Did you say that on purpose for my dad to hear?”

Frank noticed how much pain Leon was in, so he handed him the pendant. “Hold this. I’ll help…”

Leon was momentarily stunned but didn’t hesitate to take it. The pain eased significantly. Frank then said, “So you do realize that your relationship with her is completely abnormal?”

Leon frowned. “That doesn’t mean you had to bring it up in front of my dad.” The Jenkins brothers had already been scolded by Elliot for being too physically close with Sienna.

Frank thought for a moment before speaking bluntly. “Your adopted daughter isn’t simple. Since you realized it now, don’t let yourself get dragged in any further. Otherwise, be careful. You might lose everything.”

He added, “I was also reminding your dad. Because those two idiot brothers of yours still seem to be enjoying it.” No matter what, they had been friends for years. Frank didn’t want to see the Jenkins family destroyed by Sienna.

Leon rubbed his temples. “Don’t mention those two idiots. I can’t stand looking at them anymore.”

Frank raised an eyebrow. “Weren’t you one of those idiots not too long ago!”

Leon was annoyed. Leon glared at Frank. “Can you stop? Sure, I used to spoil Sienna, but I wasn’t as brainless as those two idiots.” Sienna was an adopted sister, not a biological one. She was obedient and well-behaved most of the time, so Leon had spoiled her just for fun. It was like raising a beloved pet since childhood. If someone bullied the pet, the owner would step in to protect it. But now that Leon realized the pet wasn’t as obedient as he had thought, he had no problem withdrawing his affection.

A fresh wave of pain hit Frank, and he couldn’t help but complain, “Damn, Phoebe is really ruthless!”

Leon held onto the pendant, looking resigned. “Of course. She’s got a temper now, and I can’t afford to provoke her! You just had to go after her best friend.”

Frank sneered. “I never played Brenda. But you? You’re way harsher on your own sister. Guess that’s why you two are truly related.”

Leon didn’t want to talk about it. If he had known things would turn out like this, he never would have been stupid enough to help Sienna deal with Phoebe. He changed the subject. “Aren’t you keeping Edith by your side for fun?”

Frank countered, “Do you think I’d be as dumb as you and your brothers?”

Leon thought, “This bastard really has a way of mocking and criticizing people!” He chuckled coldly. “Then why are you stringing Brenda along for Edith?”

Frank sighed. “To not string Brenda along.” Then, with a meaningful look, he added, “Edith is just useful, that’s all.”

Leon teased, “Useful for warming your bed?”

Frank’s face darkened. “I have better taste than that.”

Leon was intrigued. “Then what is she useful for?”

Frank shot him a look. “Knowing too much won’t do you any good.” He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, offered one to Leon, and lit one for himself. Leon took it, lighting up as well.

As the smoke curled in the air, he noticed a coldness in Frank’s expression, an edge he had never seen before. So he stopped asking. The two smoked several cigarettes in silence before finally heading back to the office.

Before stepping in, Leon returned the pendant to Frank. When they entered, Edith had already returned.

The moment she saw Frank, her eyes filled with grievance and hurt. But Frank didn’t look at her. A short while later, Damon arrived with an elderly man dressed in a gray robe. He introduced him to Elliot and the others. “This is my senior, Nathaniel Solomon. You may call him Mr. Solomon.”

Elliot and the others exchanged polite greetings. Nathaniel nodded, then swept his gaze over Leon and the other three. Taking out a compass, he instructed, “Each of you, place your hand on this compass.”

Leon was the first to comply. The compass trembled slightly. The same thing happened when the other three followed suit. After that, Nathaniel carefully examined each of them.

He said, “It seems that on the day you were injured, you were struck by evil energy. But the energy quickly disappeared from your bodies, leaving behind lingering pain with no visible trace.”

Elliot asked, “Were you able to detect the evil energy?”

Nathaniel shook his head. “No, this is my assessment based on experience.” He added solemnly, “Whoever set this evil energy is highly skilled. They left no trace behind, yet ensured that their targets suffer unbearably.”

Leon asked, “Can you remove it?” He didn’t care about the details. He just wanted the pain to stop.
