Chapter 147
After they left the club, Maddoxโs eyes sparkled as he looked at Phoebe. โSo, what are we going to do with the thirty thousand dollars?โ
He believed in living in the moment; spending money was the best way to stay motivated to earn more. This would also highlight Phoebeโs capabilities, letting more people see how great she was and like her more.
Phoebe checked the time and suggested, โLetโs book a hotel first. We can check in now. Weโll rest for an hour to recharge, then go have a nice meal.โ
She took a card from her bag and checked it. โToday, thereโs a famous influencerโs five-star hotel. Theyโre having a fireworks show to celebrate the storeโs anniversary tonight. The production team wants us to check in here for the fireworks.โ
โLetโs book three of the best rooms for the fireworks view. That way, weโll get our check-in and solve the accommodation issue at the same time, two birds with one stone.โ
Maddox agreed. โThatโs a perfect idea.โ He grinned and added, โJust following Pheebs and getting to enjoy the ride; this is awesome.โ
Maddie, youโre so lucky!
Pheebs, can I be your lackey!
Pherbs, I want to live with you.
I love her too much. I also want to live with her.
Oh my gosh! Thatโs so amazing. I love you, Pheebs!
I canโt help it. Iโm falling for her; Reece doesnโt compare to Pheebs at all. I really like her.
The comments on the screen were full of playful remarks about wanting to live off someone else, cheerful and lighthearted. Quintus chuckled. โIโve never stayed in a five-star hotel before. Thanks, Phoebe.โ
When he first started his career, he made some money, but he quickly offended Joshua and was pushed aside. Not long after, he became broke, and heโd never had the chance to stay in a five-star hotel.
Phoebe smiled and said, โNo problem, Iโll take you to stay somewhere nice.โ
She pulled out her phone and opened the hotelโs page. โTheyโre having an event for their anniversary today. The fireworks view rooms, originally priced at 9,998, are now 6,698.โ
Since it was the off-season for tourism, there were still rooms available.
โIโll book three rooms then,โ she said.
Maddox and Quintus nodded. โSounds good.โ
Although Quintus thought it was a bit expensive, he could tell that Phoebe and Maddox didnโt care, so he didnโt mention saving money to avoid ruining their mood.
Phoebe booked the three rooms for 20,094, then the three of them took a taxi to the hotel.
I take back what I said; those few dollars they spent could last them a whole week of fun, I was being naive.
Iโve never stayed in a five-star hotel either. Itโs fine, Iโll go see it with Pherbs, and experience it with them.
Same here, today Pheels is showing me the ropes.
At this rate, I think they spend all thirty thousand dollars today.
Theyโre so extravagant.
It feels so good to see them spend money as they please.
Itโs the first time Iโve seen a variety show where the guests make their own money and stay in such a nice hotel. Impressive.
Not only does she earn her own money but she also helps the other two live better.
No wonder Maddie and Quintus rely on her, sheโs amazing.

Chapter 147
Especially compared to the other two groups, this group is really satisfying and extravagant. Compared to the other two groups, this group is really cool and generous.
The other two groups are indeed a little miserable. In comparison, no harm.
(Maddie, go hurt them!)
I canโt wait to see how the other groups of guests react when they find out this group made so much money and spent so much.
Maddie, ins its your time to shine.
A group of people were shouting loudly, urging Maddox to step in. On the other side, Maddox didnโt disappoint.
Singing in the car, Maddox said to Phoebe, โPheebs, send me a screenshot of your hotel booking.โ
Phoebe immediately knew what he was up to. She didnโt object at all; in fact, she indulged him. โSure.โ
She sent him a screenshot of the booking details. Maddox instantly posted the photo in the group chat.
First, it was a photo of their lunch and the bill. Then, he posted the one of Phoebe with her fencing trophy, holding the first-place award along with the thirty-thousand-dollar prize. Finally, he shared the screenshot of the hotel booking.
Maddox: [So far, weโve only spent a little over twenty thousand dollars. Looks like spending money is an art, and weโre going to do our best to help Pheebs spend that entire thirty thousand today.]
Quintus, seeing the messages and photos in the group, opened it up and stared, stunned.
โMaddox is really over the top. This kind of showing off is obviously meant to hit the other two teams hard. But I like it,โ he wondered.
Quintus: [Iโll try to keep up with you guys.]
Meanwhile, the other two teams were performing, but the results were not great.
Sienna and her group of four took turns singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Sienna even wore the traditional clothes prepared by the production team, played the cello, and danced. They played the guitar, pulled out the violin, and even blew the saxophone.
But because it wasnโt particularly innovative, the locals who gave tips were few and far between. After all, these were things that street performers already did. Some of them even played instruments better or danced more passionately and gracefully than they did. There were plenty of fans for the four of them, but their tips didnโt add up.
As a result, after over two hours of singing and dancing, they barely earned six hundred dollars.
James and his group made even less, less than three hundred dollars.
At this point, both groups were exhausted from performing and were resting, drinking water, when they heard the message notification sound.
Lexie picked up her phone, hadnโt opened it yet, and said to James, โI suddenly have a bad feeling about this.โ
James was stunned for a moment, then realized. โI think itโs exactly what weโre thinking.โ
Jimmy, hearing their conversation, was confused. โWhat bad feeling?โ
Lexie said, โOpen the chat and youโll see.โ
Jimmy, even more curious, opened the group and looked at it. After reading, he was speechless, โCan it really be like this? Is this even possible!โ He was stunned by how much they were showing off.
Lexie and James couldnโt help but peek at the group, both nodding. โThereโs nothing he wonโt show off, as long as he can think of it.โ
Jimmy really wanted to say, โThis is just too much,โ but since he was new and a guest, he didnโt dare to speak out.

Lexie couldnโt hold back and posted: [Fine, Mr. Hooper, you really are something.]
James: [Agreed, youโre really too much.]
Lexie: [And I just have to say, Pheebs is amazing. We barely made three hundred dollars, and youโve earned thirty thousand.]
James: How is the gap between people so big?
Lexie: [I really miss the days when I was teamed up with Pheebs and was carried along.]
James: [Me too.]
Jimmy, amazed by Phoebeโs earnings and the trioโs spending spree for the day, was left in awe.
Jimmy: [I envy you.] He envied both Maddox and Quintus.
Maddox: [Too bad this time, you guys can only envy us and be jealous.] Along with a smug emoji.
At this moment, Lexie and James really wanted to kick this smug Maddox out and beat him up.
On the other side, the three of them, besides Joshua, heard the sound of multiple message notifications and also had a bad feeling. But they couldnโt resist their curiosity and clicked to open it.
After reading, one of them muttered a curse under their breath.
Jamar, after seeing the chat and Maddoxโs smugness, couldnโt help but tag Maddox in the group.
Jamar: Maddox, do yourself a favor.
The others were all thinking the same thing at this point.
