On the other side, Jamar went back to his room first to take a shower. After watching TV for a while, he got up and went to knock on the door of the room next door. Joshua was lying in bed, his throat feeling unbearably sore. When he heard the knock, he thought it was Sienna bringing him the hangover medicine she had gone to buy. When he opened the door and saw his younger brother standing there, he was momentarily stunned.

Jamar raised an eyebrow. “What, were you expecting Sienna!”

Joshua didn’t deny it. “What do you want?”

Jamar lifted the bag in his hand and waved it in front of him. “I brought you some medicine.”

Joshua was surprised. “Come in.”

After closing the door and turning around, he saw Jamar sitting on a chair, looking at him with an unreadable expression.

Joshua asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Jamar said, “Just wondering how you ended up being a sucker.”

“Just had to pick up bad habits from those two bastards,” Jamar added.

Hearing that, Joshua’s face darkened. “Just leave. Instead of learning good things, you just…”

Jamar couldn’t help but laugh. “Can you stop automatically assuming I’m talking about that? I meant you’re being a sucker for Sienna. You thought she would bring you medicine, but in reality, she never would. In the end…”

Jamar took some pills from his pocket. “Your throat must be uncomfortable. Take the one for your throat.”

“When he bought them,” Jamar continued, “in the end, it was only your little brother who thought of you? Now, right? Take the hangover medicine first, then after six hours…” He explained Joshua’s drinking habits to the pharmacist, who gave him instructions on how to take them.

Joshua was stunned. “How did you know about this?”

He continued. “She said if you drank too much or ate anything that caused inflammation, your throat would hurt. She told me I should try to stop you from drinking, but if you had to, I should give you some of the throat lozenges she made herself.”

He added, “She even gave me a spare box. But you didn’t drink, so I ended up eating them myself. They tasted really good, and my throat felt a lot better after.”

Joshua froze for a moment. “So, you knew because Phoebe told you?”

At that moment, he suddenly didn’t know how to describe his complicated emotions.

Jamar nodded. “Of course. Who else would care?”

The brothers got along well, but they each did their own thing and never paid attention to these small details. Only Phoebe had noticed these things and expressed her care through actions.

Jamar continued. “Your precious Sienna probably doesn’t know about this, or maybe she noticed but just couldn’t be bothered to care. She only says things to sound caring, but she never follows through.”

He added, “Like when she said she would buy you hangover medicine. If she really intended to, why would she ask you first! If she cared, she would’ve done what I did, bought it and brought it to you. I’m just copying Phoebe’s way of doing things. Sanna knew you wouldn’t want something nice. Once you told her it wasn’t necessary, she didn’t bother.”

Joshua felt a sharp pain in his chest as he listened to this. He also suddenly realized how foolish he had been to feel touched earlier.
