Chapter 169

On the other side, Jamar went back to his room first to take a shower. After watching TV for a while, he got up and went to knock on the door of the room next door. Joshua was lying in bed, his throat feeling unbearably sore. When he heard the knock, he thought it was Sienna bringing him the hangover medicine she had gone to buy. When he opened the door and saw his younger brother standing there, he was momentarily stunned.

Jamar raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhat, were you expecting Sienna!โ€

Joshua didnโ€™t deny it. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

Jamar lifted the bag in his hand and waved it in front of him. โ€œI brought you some medicine.โ€

Joshua was surprised. โ€œCome in.โ€

After closing the door and turning around, he saw Jamar sitting on a chair, looking at him with an unreadable expression.

Joshua asked, โ€œWhy are you looking at me like that?โ€

Jamar said, โ€œJust wondering how you ended up being a sucker.โ€

โ€œJust had to pick up bad habits from those two bastards,โ€ Jamar added.

Hearing that, Joshuaโ€™s face darkened. โ€œJust leave. Instead of learning good things, you justโ€ฆโ€

Jamar couldnโ€™t help but laugh. โ€œCan you stop automatically assuming Iโ€™m talking about that? I meant youโ€™re being a sucker for Sienna. You thought she would bring you medicine, but in reality, she never would. In the endโ€ฆโ€

Jamar took some pills from his pocket. โ€œYour throat must be uncomfortable. Take the one for your throat.โ€

โ€œWhen he bought them,โ€ Jamar continued, โ€œin the end, it was only your little brother who thought of you? Now, right? Take the hangover medicine first, then after six hoursโ€ฆโ€ He explained Joshuaโ€™s drinking habits to the pharmacist, who gave him instructions on how to take them.

Joshua was stunned. โ€œHow did you know about this?โ€

Jamar answered truthfully. โ€œPhoebe told me back when she was still in the family. One time, you and I went to an event together, and she specifically reminded meโ€ฆโ€

He continued. โ€œShe said if you drank too much or ate anything that caused inflammation, your throat would hurt. She told me I should try to stop you from drinking, but if you had to, I should give you some of the throat lozenges she made herself.โ€

He added, โ€œShe even gave me a spare box. But you didnโ€™t drink, so I ended up eating them myself. They tasted really good, and my throat felt a lot better after.โ€

Joshua froze for a moment. โ€œSo, you knew because Phoebe told you?โ€

At that moment, he suddenly didnโ€™t know how to describe his complicated emotions.

Jamar nodded. โ€œOf course. Who else would care?โ€

The brothers got along well, but they each did their own thing and never paid attention to these small details. Only Phoebe had noticed these things and expressed her care through actions.

Jamar continued. โ€œYour precious Sienna probably doesnโ€™t know about this, or maybe she noticed but just couldnโ€™t be bothered to care. She only says things to sound caring, but she never follows through.โ€

He added, โ€œLike when she said she would buy you hangover medicine. If she really intended to, why would she ask you first! If she cared, she wouldโ€™ve done what I did, bought it and brought it to you. Iโ€™m just copying Phoebeโ€™s way of doing things. Sanna knew you wouldnโ€™t want something nice. Once you told her it wasnโ€™t necessary, she didnโ€™t bother.โ€

Joshua felt a sharp pain in his chest as he listened to this. He also suddenly realized how foolish he had been to feel touched earlier.

She couldnโ€™t resist stirring things up. โ€œThey actually teamed up. Looks like weโ€™ve been left out again.โ€

She was implying that they were being excluded and that the other twoโ€ฆ were being unfair.

Reece glanced at her. โ€œItโ€™s not your first time dealing with them.โ€

Jamar also knew that those two groups wouldnโ€™t include them in their plansโ€ฆ or practice|

So he said, โ€œLetโ€™s just focus on figuring out how weโ€™re going to make money for food and lodging today?โ€

Sienna thought these two were hopeless.
